I am not sure how this would work nor I do I know how I feel about it. We've already seen how the economies have been impacted by cross-world travel, I can't imagine what a cross DC system would do?

I think this would be cool if they are talking about being able to join DF, PF, and PvP across data-centers. This would open up the ability to play with friends we've made who happen to be in that other data-center.

As far as letting people from other data-centers visit the world and affect the MB, I have no idea how that would turn out. Probably turmoil and chaos.

I would have ZERO issues with it opening up the DF and PF. I think actual visiting could create some serious issues, especially with Hunts and people who are crafters/gatherers etc.

If this makes it so we can have PF and DF pull from outside the datacenter, yes!

I am not for cross region though. I feel that might lag too much if I am paired with people from EU or now run into more language barriers.

Also, I want to see a neutral AH that is all of the worlds on a datacenter so that I dont have to jump between worlds to find a good deal.

I'd assume they would start small simply trying the process for NA and EU first as those are the main two that are affected by the DC reshuffling.

The market would be absolutely crushed, by the idea of everyone being able to visit each other is a novel idea. The amount of hunt trains would be absolutely staggering.

For PVP and raiding it would be extremely nice as there were so many statics broken by the split people can finally play together without making an alt chara.

However it's something to def leave in the oven for a long long time. Going in with a concept like that would lead to so much strain and when we had situations like Balmung people not being able to enter their Home World when WV started it def still needs some work.

I wouldn't worry about it, we're talking about the same system any modern mmorpg has and this just most likely would mean duty finder/party finder but probably not world visits even though other MMORPGs have no such limitations with dc x dc to begin with typically speaking, this is exclusively an FFXIV thing.

Easy Example, WoW has all its server connected for cross play and they have at least 4 data centers. This actually begins to add the question, if so many of ffxiv's issues are datacenter/server limitation based why just now do we have 3? Easy answers :x they're not good with server infrastructure and are fine imposing limits because it's easy to blame servers and be cheap.

Basically they're hinting at finally looking into what modern mmorpgs do, allowing access to the market boards through world visits is their own mistake when there was no need to give players access to it. The question should be if they will finally do away with their archaic system and fix a bad idea. (I get tired of saying this so often with ffxiv).

Economies my foot. This would be awesome. My characters on Balmung can't play with my friends on Aether since the split and being able to do so again would be amazing. Being able to interact with all severs on the NA data center should be a thing.

Yeah, I have buddies on Primal that I'd really like to be able to just play the game with. Who cares about short-term shakeups of an in-game economy that barely exists after the first two days of a Savage patch? Right now if you're in NA you only have about a 1/3 chance of being able to play with any other given NA player and this system would let us fix that.

Simply don't allow cross-markets then.
Would love a Megaserver. More people to play with is always good.
Esp with the recent split up, we can see out old friends again!

No downside to it. Would mean faster queue times in DF, and better market board prices. More hunts being spawned, PF raids and extremes will probably be faster to fill as well. literally no downside.
