This isn't about movement or timer issues, it's about spells not working when they should. It's been happening to me VERY frequently as the tanks in my ls can attest to when I'm trying to cast on them until we wipe due to this bug.

Yea I have been getting this casting bug and have died several times due to not being able to cast a heal/sleep.
I'm guessing its a latency thing, just out of curiosity are you guys from NA or EU ?
I've also been noticing that as a healer I'm not able to compete with NA players, they normally see the damage before me so I end up healing over their heals. (I didn't notice this before the patch)
This might sound silly but its kind of annoying. (the joys of Eastern servers)

It fixes syncing issues though which are generally caused due to lag, hence people having problems with their actions recast timers.
The recast timers although a different problem can be an issue for some and not with others, I would make a bet that its all intertwined somehow.
There are two forms of lag going on.
One is network latency -Your connection to SE server (this is fairly minimal 150-300 ms)
The other is Server lag - SE server processing speed which is horrendous and why they are changing to new servers, this is in the 2-3 second range)
That being said I know a guy who has played in both Japan and Europe due to work and he said the difference is fairly noticeable.

I would think that if it were due to lag we would have seen this occur prior to patch 1.21. I never had this issue prior to Thursday. Since there was a code change directly related to when you can or cannot cast, it's fairly safe to assume that somebody broke something in that area.
Possibly, considering this game is running on a server made of spaghetti and duck-tape anything could happen.
I thought I should mention that its not caused due to moves moving you either, ie toads grabbing you with their tongue or goats head butting you.
Interruption rate is much higher but this hasn't been the case for me many times either as when you are interrupted you still cast the spell.
Another thing to mention is that in some cases you cast a spell and the cast bar doesn't even come up yet you still cast the spell, which make you think the spell isn't casting. (in many cases you press the button again and stop the casting and its just a viscous circle of button spamming and a dead tanks)
Its not server lag. They have changed the battle system - likely the spell casting movement nonsense they implemented changed the battle system in other unintended ways.
Its not just spell casting - I was heavily soloing archer before the patch which requires a lot of button mashing. After the patch, the timing is completely off. Button presses for actions do not register, they are delayed, they work sometimes and not others - its a general mess.
SE needs to clean this up.

Spells for me work just fine with I'm on Gladiator... It's just when I switch to a job, i.e. Paladin, and try to cast Holy Successor does the game decide to start having a seizure and just stop processing my spell requests. Makes me want to just tank stuff on GLA rather than PLD until this issue gets resolved.
