No, they can't go back to 1.0 because 1.0 was awful .
Signed, someone who actually was there from beta 1.0 to the final day. I leveled my first 2 classes to 50 on doblyns and coblyns. I was capped on earth and fire shards when 2.0 started. And had thousands of crystals.
Will classic have more than a few months of activity though? People will very quickly start missing out on the Qol features. Hell, blizzard had to make a post telling people which things weren't bugs, because people kept thinking qol features missing was a bug.
Also, maybe if you tried to interact with people, you'd get that social aspect. I have a whole group of friends I play with and talk to daily. You get out what you put in. The games don't need to be designed to force people to communicate.
Maybe you've just gotten too good at MMOs and are no longer capable of reasonably assessing difficulty. True story: when players first experienced the WoW Classic Beta last month, they complained that the elites were far easier than they had been in the original game because they were even easier to defeat than the current elites. After going back to the original source code to double check, Blizzard confirmed that the statistics were, in fact, identical to the original game's. The difference is that players weren't min-maxing every aspect of the game and reading rotation guides back then. Personally, I just want to relax at the end of the day. If I wanted non-stop thrills with constant dodging and precise clicking I would play a platformer, not an MMO.
Well everyone playing is entitled to their opinion. FF14 is what it is partially because the devs will listen to what players want. If enough people want a shift in difficulty, it will probably happen.
I'd like a more interesting open world, but just making existing mobs tougher isn't how I would do it. I don't care very much for the typical MMO mob that just happens to stand around, sometimes in annoying places, (like by a magically unnoticed NPC that you need to talk to) and has nothing to do all day but bother players. More dynamic behavior would be nice, like changing mob positions and different conditions that would lead to them attacking players and other mobs.
As far as overall game difficulty goes, I think having harder alternative versions of dungeons would go a long way to making the game more enjoyable and replayable. Scale all the enemies to whatever the current level cap is, give them EX difficulty levels of damage and HP so that hitting the ilvl cap doesn't trivialize everything, and make the dungeons themselves dynamic so we can't memorize them. This leaves the base content alone so that it can be cleared by anyone while providing a place for more skilled players to test themselves or to entice less skilled players to learn and grow.
I communicate daily with the people in my FC - either directly ingame or in our Discord-channel. Our casual-static raids two times in a week and in between we do things like maps, ex-primals and the like together.
Thats enough community for me /shrug - I never understood the wish to have conversations with strangers during your dungeon-runs... I want to play a game, not hold smalltalk with people I'll never see again.
Cool.
Here's the thing, FF14 isn't WoW so there really isn't much to say here. People play these games for different reasons, and saying that the game is easy when minimum ilvl trials and raids are still fully challenging, not to mention the savage raids and ultimates, just seems to ignore that there IS a LOT of challenging content, it's just not challenging enough for your arbitrary tastes.
Bets on OP calling for nerfs of the lvl 80 final boss trial like we had people calling for with Royal Menagerie?
Here I got a job for you. Go to the - Tales of a dutyfinder thread- and since you like hardcore content. Read the whole thread. Or the last 20 pages. then ask yourself, like REALLY ask yourself. Does this game need to be harder than it already is? Oh you say it isn't hard? Clear UwU first time go, clear any recent sav raid first time go no deaths no guides no nothing. See this is the issue I have with statements like yours. The game was never ball busting for the dungeons. Noone would've played it. Hell there's alot of people who say it's too complex NOW. Yes people are out there saying XIV as it is is needless hard. They exist, and again... we have the biggest thread of complaints of people who can't do basic crap. That thread alone disproves your point I think.
