Yeah, it can be tough as a kid on MMOs sometimes, I started playing MMOs when I was 12, and I got cyberbullied back then.
Unlike RL bulling though, at least you can blacklist so you never have to read that person's vitriol again.
Perhaps help teach her about how to deal with these situations online, like the report and blacklist functions. Continue to supervise her while she is playing, and if someone says something bad about her, tell her all the ways she's good at the game.
If that still doesn't work out, then I suggest waiting a few years, as people have said, this game is rated 16+

Perhaps only let her run dungeons with you in her party, and bring along trusted friends to help her, to try to build a friendly atmosphere for her.
You could disable her Party chat, and tell her what they say instead, so if there's anything nasty, she won't know about it unless you tell her.

I would have her play single player games. Once had person whispering me in chat sexual comments and had have gm take care of it. That be worst to have happen to young person.

I was avoiding comment because it's pretty obvious that the original poster is just letting off steam in a random direction, since the person who was mean is 99% unlikely to actually be on this board. And the logical solution is to tell the kid that people online are dorks, so feel free to ignore them. But then we get into this ratings system thing.

Ratings systems are garbage and completely beside the point. The kid is 13 and perfectly capable of wacking some nasties in a dungeon. I'm sure the person being mean was old enough to know better.

Are you all missing the fact he said she was a shy 13 year old girl? and you're also assuming he hasn't already told her about the bullies.

All they're doing as her parent is coming here to remind people not everybody playing is an adult and should be respectful to your fellow player.

Truth of the matter is, welcome to the online world. People aren't always glittery and made of sunshine and sparkle dust. Am I the type to lose my patience in raids/trials? Not at all. I'm incredibly chill when it comes to things like blunders. That doesn't mean someone else is - and it's not their problem that the person behind the screen is a literal child. Either you go into MMORPGs understanding that not everyone is going to hold your hand or you don't put yourself in social situations.

Aye, the ratings basically mean that if your kid is younger than the recommended age to play, then they need supervision, which is what OP was doing.
I was playing Final Fantasy games since I was 5 :D
That creepy looking boss in that submarine in FF7, and the T-rexsaur in FF8 always scared me, but other than that it was fine.

Nah If someone else is being a dick to someone in a trail/dungeon I'm in Im going to speak up because Im not going to just accept that gamers are basement dwelling goblins and shouldnt be held accountable. If you cant handle one wipe without throwing a fit and bullying someone then leave. If they cant act civil maybe they should be the ones to not put themselves in social situations because they clearly can not handle it.

Its one wipe, stop babying full grown people who act like trolls.

I’m very sorry you and your daughter has this experience, this should be a reminder to be kind to people you encounter in game because you don’t know who is behind the character.

I actually have a 15 year old daughter who plays this game among others online as well as a 17 year old son who does a lot of online gaming. I offered my advice as one parent to another and I hope it is taken in good faith.

Online games have been a great way to teach my children about human nature and how to deal with many types of personalities even when it makes them uncomfortable or angry.

Stating the obvious.

Doesn't really change the fact people need stop being A**Holes and you telling a 13 year old kid to "grow a thick skin" just makes you come off as someone with a lack of empathy.
Not to offend you of course, I don't know you, but just calling it how I see it or....read it.

If you were in his shoes and someone mouthed off to your kid who you know is very shy and timid, I'm sure in hell you would come on these fourms and vent to. I know I would.
