I was watching my 13 year old daughter playing a trial boss. And some mouthy little entitled twerp started blaming her cuz she was panicking a little and the party wiped. She was in tears and left. Now she\\'s saying she never wants to play again.
She\\'s always been a bit sensitive and shy but enjoys final Fantasy games even the old ones I grew up playing. She was very proud of herself for getting into stormblood and kept saying she was looking forward to the new expansion. Her confidence level was starting to show and it was a great way for us to do something together.
You rude players out there need to stop expecting others to be like you! Be understanding! you don\\'t have most of the facts and can\\'t judge them nor blame them. You do not know what is going on in other people\\'s environments, various distractions occur, and stop freaking out cuz your video game wasn\\'t perfect.

As a fellow kid playing an MMO. This is just something she’ll have to get used to.

Maybe playing single player games without others is better as to avoid cyber bullying.

I'm sorry that she had to get a few rotten people in a trail. Let her calm down and help her out if you can. Did she tell em that she was new to the instance? If they knew it and still flipped out on her then yeah they suck. Also grats on you kid getting to stormblood. I tend to try and be the MT for people who are needing an understanding person in an important role or if possible be a co-healer.

While I am sorry she got treated in that manner, at the end of the day it's an online game and you're going to encounter people like that. That doesn't mean it's justified or that it was accurate... but things like that do happen.

I mean I once caused an entire alliance to disband because I got into an argument with another alliance (sometimes calling people out, while doing it nicely and offering advice, even after multiple wipes.. can backfire in a huge manner)...and my friends who were in the run were kind of upset with me... even though they were voicing the same opinion on voice chat prior to the argument.

Than theirs the time when I was trying to learn levi after unsyched first became a thing and people kept getting mad at me for not picking things up quickly (it took like six full runs before I was fine.. and whats worth that was one fight that I had an easier time doing than watching the video).

Kids these days. When I was 13 I was playing vanilla WoW. Waaayyyyyy more provocative than this fairy tale. My advice, teach you kid to have tougher skin OR don't let your 13yr old play an online game. It's so different now than the old days, way more creeps and weirdos. Just look at some of the threads here, for example (looking at you ppl who want playable children).

Unfortunately, You're bound to run into some complaints from other players while you're playing an MMO, but if the person who is blaming your daughter using rude or offensive language then I suggest you report them through the support desk.

Otherwise, pay them no mind. They're not worth you and your daughter attention.

It sounds harsh but as toxic as MMOs and other online games can be either she may need to play a single player game or try to move on from this and develop some tougher skin, neck tell her to mouth off back lol that’s bad advice don’t listen to me

As a parent you should take this moment to teach her how to deal with her reaction to people behaving in this way. The real world isn't always a kind place either and giving her the tools to deal with situations like this is giving her a leg up in life.
