It's kind of a bad look for you to badmouth someone about this. When the devs have alluded to them having more options to make up for the lack of the opposite gender.

Oh yeah, and they aren't out yet. So... you don't know if they have more or less options. If more, how much more? No one knows yet!

Does anyone else get more excited for Hrothgar every time they see Viera? Hrothgar cannot really be recreated with another race even if tried, face paint Roe does not look anything like Hrothgar (as much as painting ones face in real life looks like another race lol).

I'm sure there will be a lot of animation love for the Viera, and options to spice them up, but with the very vague info we have that I can't help but think "hyur + X" (of course with the little information, or my lack of interest, it could have painted my vision to only see bunny ears on a normal human head). I am happy for those who wanted to play them though (not excited for the race (Viera) but excited that others are excited, nuance ;)).

Would it maybe because they're using the bounce on the chest for ears (on males) while the bounce on females is already in use (like if it was a slot / system limitation)? If there is no particular reason #GiveFemalesTheirBounce lol.

Ummm, adding up everything we've seen and been told ...

Hrothgar have face that look like Ronso/ Jaguar/ Lion/ Wolf. They can have different horns or no horn. They can have a fur pattern and all their body fur matches the hair color so it's changeable unlike the Scaley peep's scales.

Viera have many different styles of ears ranging from short to tall to front bent to back bent to different levels of fur on them and far more customization in hair styles (the whole bangs, no bangs thing).

It's nothing really technical. Our ears do move in some emotes, it's just never as much as the males and it looks way way worse.
(here's some examples, where the males will have a bunch of flicks wiggles and twitches, the females will have a simple rotate up a few degrees or down a few degrees, where their anatomy doesn't really let their ears fold as naturally as the males so it just kind of looks like their ears are wilting)
It's the curse of having a three year difference in character release dates and character artist workloads.
1.0 had character artists animating 8 player models whereas 2.0 had them focusing on just 3, so there was probably more room to focus on the male miqo'te, female roe, and female highlanders than there was for the original 1.0 characters. On top of that they had more time and practice with the tools when creating the male miqo'te than they did with the females so their familiarity would allow them to push the anatomy of the race farther to be able to express more. It's just kind of how these things go, it's why the Au Ra have such fluid and expressive emotes compared to a lot of the more stiff or simple 1.0 races.
We can only hope that SE steps out of the habit of "NEVER TOUCH PAST ONLY MAKE NEW GOODER" and goes back to show the previous character models a little bit m ore polish. :T

Well, Hrothgar are definitely a lot more interesting as they genuinely look like something different. Viera really do just look like Hyur with bunny ears - which is a shame, since they had more unique features back in FFXII.

As far as facial appearances go, I don't think they're really that far off:

We're getting the nose, Fran's pouty mouth option, big eyes, etc. I'm not sure how the feet will go and limb length may be tweaked a tad, but they're still pretty close.

I had my expectations lowered already but as they said "more customisable" I was expecting at least one more option
