I know that was the case in things like questions to be asked in Live Letters. However, what is a post with "high likes" if it gets pushed down in a thread because a billion other threads of the same topic appear? I'll tell you: lost.
Well they used to, but now its rather silent as well... the streams did OS the last time i wanted to join and the last stream was when we tried smt as a BLU group (which i got in as NO ONE wanted lol) and there still time was a problem. Idk the streams are nice but why is it that hard to just sit there and play an hour or two...
Over all the "we've ready your posts and will submit them" messages got fewer and fewer, I was actually suprised gettin a response for the Urgarmax or Bluemage glich...
That's simple: the forums are not a Q&A platform.
GMs and Community Managers only post stuff to relay something about very important topics, and that's it.
As for the suggestions and feedback, it's up to the community to stop being toxic and stop creating dozens of threads on the same subject while finally trying to use the forum's sub-categories.
But the vocal minority who uses the forums have yet to understand that.
That particular piece of feedback has already been answered too.
It's okay to ask for answers over the feedback we provide, but we should at least listen when they are provided.
I mean, it took literally years for the chocobo thing to get put in, and if I recall the only response we got about it was when people asked during the Live letters.
They do reply from time to time, but like, I don't think that's what people want. There is no patience. We're spoiled and want a response right now. XD
To be fair...
Would you respond to 90% of the posts on these forums?
When there's such well presented arguments like "Remove unskippable cutscenes from MSQ Roulette because newbies don't matter as much as me"
Anyway, they do receive feedback. Both in the form of GM's translating and sending through the most notable threads. As well as during interviews such as the recent Mr Happy one with Yoshida where MH was asked "Well, how are people from X region responding to things?"
Like, a notable thing from that interview was that Yoshida made reference to the fact that some people preferred the ARR/HW Relic grinds compared to the Eureka one. Which, as far as I'm aware, only became a very prominent point in the English forums (Specifically, the General Discussion forum. Since, for reasons I don't quite know, English speaking folks have a weird aversion for sub-forums. Like, not only this game, but many other games, always 90% of the users only interact with General Discussion leaving all the actual specific sub-forums dead)
They have brought up feedback from the English forums before in interviews and live letters so clearly the CMs are gathering feedback from these forums. Hell, in just the last fanfest Yoshi P directly asked Mr Happy who was interviewing him what the early feedback on the gender locked races was on the English forums so it isn't like he isn't interested.
Devs have the job of developing. They put in a lot of hours doing that. Yoshi P is Producer and Director so he is doing two jobs too. It is understandable that he doesn't personally spend a great deal of time on the forums, particularly with the language barrier.
It is also worth mentioning that technically limitations don't just go away. If something was a technical limitation before it quite possibly still is. The sandles rather than bare feet is a good example. I am no 3D artist but I did have a friend who played FF14 who is and tried in vain to explain it to me why it is likely like that so there is apparently a likely valid reason why they don't just change it. Likewise the issue with the Genderlock. I don't like it but resource limitations make adding new races difficult and Yoshi P was trying to satisfy the people who asked for Veira and the people back when Au Ra came out who wanted SE to release a more beastal race next.
It isn't that we are ignored. Its that direct communication through this medium on a frequent basis isn't particularly feasible. Even CMs often couldn't say more than 'We have taken note of your feedback'.
Yoshi himself will depend on how big of the issue is like white raven earrings and thats pretty rare
other stuff like dev request or tool tip errors some people will chime in and go "will tell dev team" that hasn't happen in a bit either probably because been busy with fan-fest and ShB for awhile now
I know, but that was 5 years ago and the people are still asking for that particular thing over and over again. Maybe they can pass feedback more often than once in 6 years when the demand is still there?
However, they don't have to give feedback over every little thing they pass the devs, that would be silly. But generally they could show some more presence in the english forums so that we know that they are here and actually read the stuff we write.
I'm sure Yoshi-P has time to answer ridiculous questions and forum posts during his busy schedule already. I wont say that he "responds" to us directly in posts, but the community team do likely compile lists and feedback of important issues and requests to present during their meetings and whatnot. If its a rather pressing concern Yoshi-P issues a statement.
I really wish folks would stop and think before the post useless drivel accusing the hardworking devs and producer of "not listening" to them when clearly they do. Just sometimes its not WORTH their time to respond to until it can be properly discussed/addressed.
