It's really no different then using windower for ffxi back in the old days, near infinite and lag free macros with no size restrictions.
Going to let us make addons in the future that will probably give us huge advantages if similar to WoW, but no turbo button for you!
Hmm.. Thanks for the input guys. I think this thread can benefit many people. As I said, this is the very first gaming mouse that I bought and I am just curious with the functions it offers.
Hello,
It is possible that mapping keys to your mouse is okey? I.e. mapping 1-0 on keyboard to 1-10 on mouse.
Then instead of moving hand from mouse to keyboard to press 7, you simply click '7' on the mouse.
I'm not sure THIS would be considered against the rules. However, if you mapped multi-step functions to a mouse button, i.e.:
Pressing '7' on mouse is same as pressing '3' then '5' then '7' then '4' then '8' on keyboard then this might not be allowed.
However! If you had an in in-game macro, say: CTRL-1 that did the equivalent of:
3
5
7
4
8
And you mapped keyboard '1' to mouse '1' and then pressed CTRL on keyboard with 1 on mouse, then I think THIS would be okey ^.^;;;
Or to sum up, I BELIEVE it is okey if there is a 1-to-1 relationship between pressing the key on mouse versus pressing the key on keyboard. It is when pressing the key on mouse results in a set of operations that would require more than one key press on keyboard that it becomes a problem.
Personally, I still use a two-button laptop mouse as I find it enough for my needs. But maybe one day I try out something more fancy and like it ^.^;
using a razor keyboard and or mouse is not considered botting or cheating. i use my razor keyboard to macro all my commands for my job classes because the ingame macro system sucks balls.
but if you want peace of mind do what i did. submit a petition / ticket to Sqex and ask them. and they will basically say the same thing
Going to copy and paste SQEX's response with Matsume's translation in here. For reference.
Where any other method includes programmable mouse keys, speech recognition macros, Xkeys USB devices, etc.
There's a risk. SE may not have the detection tools now, but you don't want to be caught in a sweep and lumped together with those that were abusing their keyboards/mice/software.
edit: Or third party apps like PinnacleGameProfiler, that could remap our gamepad to do things that the configure does not let us do (emulating a keyboard press). We use at our own risk.
Hello,
There can still be a fine line drawn between the use of a button on a mouse to execute 'automated action' versus the use of the mouse button to equal the press of a single key on the keyboard.
I know it is a lot to have them spell out in great detail what is and what is not permitted. I also know it would be sad to those who need to map the keys from keyboard to mouse not be able to because they are uncertain if it is allowed or not.
I don't see a line. The only thing prohibited that I can see is the AUTOMATION of actions, such as automatically walking from one camp to another, or botting your crafting. Making your mouse button approximate a key press is not automating an action, it's merely changing the input device.
