THM vs Tank FIGHT!!

It's kind of annoying when THMs go full blast right out of the gate then act all surprised when they pull hate before the tank has managed to get even 1 WS off...

It especially sucks because it's annoying to get Ifrit back in to position especially if he refuses to jump. Please THMs everywhere... if you wait for even as little as 30 seconds before nuking it makes a big difference. It won't kill you (er... I guess that's literal too).

As a black mage in FFXI I could nuke a mob down and grab hate too.

Stealing hate doesn't equate to your skill level on either end of the spectrum, it means you're doing something you shouldn't be doing.

First thing I think when I read the OP was "English grammar: please check it". Second thing I think is "Another 'lack of enmity control thread', ho-hum". Final thing I think is "text language and smiley faces don't make you less hostile, just make you look stupid".

There's a little phrase that has been going around on MMOs for a while: "When the tank dies, it's the healer's fault; if the healer dies, it's the tank fault; if the DPS dies, it's their own fault". So if you're THM and you're pulling hate and wind up dead, guess who's fault it is? That's right.

thms that steal hate are bad thms.

While some tanks are better at getting hate and some plain out suck at it, hate control is not just the tanks job.

If the thm pulls hate in most cases they are not doing thier job properly. The DDs job is dmg output, dmg avoidance, and hate control, pulling hate mean the DD did something wrong. There is a hate bar for dd I think this sums it up pretty well: green = dmg the mob, yellow = caution slow dmg, red = STOP DMG, blinking red = YOU SCREWED UP. That is what I tell my DDS in my ls. I have some tanks which hold hate better then others, but in the end if a thm pulls hate on ifrit for instance.. it will not be the tank getting yelled in most cases.

Haha, hate control is indeed a group effort. But sometimes it's fun to pull hate just to tease your tank.
