Please, no more inventory slots...

I think one of the more irritating about the new tier of crafting is the reuse of old materials. For example, molybedum ingots requiring Cobalt Ore, or Twinthread requiring Effervescent Water, or Steppe Serge requiring Natron. All fairly easy to get, but it consumes a large amount of inventory space to have to keep both level 60-70 mats AND level 20-40 mats. Some of it isn't too bad, like the Tama-hagane Ingots requiring Iron Ore since you can buy it at the Material Supplier in houses, which means I don't need to keep any on hand.

Being slightly better than a horrific system isn't something to brag about though.

I have less problems with the slots all over the place but Han I do with constantly running out of room and not being able to store things I want to keep. Especially with being made to pay extra for most of the inventory upgrades, I’m at least glad we’ve fairly recently gotten something for no extra cost included with our subscription. I’m happy to put the things i’m not using now into storage and just retrieve them when I need.

What makes me laugh about seeing a post like this is that people complained about not having not enough space, now its too much?

Pretty much half of this could have been gutted, had the game had archives akin to what is found in some other MMO like GW2 and WoW.

Crafting materials also end up being problematic since whenever you go out to do something you suddenly have a tab filled with an assortment of materials that you might just as well throw away.

In the end, constantly dealing with the ever overflowing inventories just end up frustrating, specially when there are relatively "easy" ways to solve it.

stop hoarding, its that simple. I know its hard, trust me. I am a packrat omnicrafter with 8 retainers lmao. I finally just had enough of my own issues and stopped. All of the old mats should be gone from your inventory because its not anything that is hard to obtain anymore. Really its the only way. I seperate my retainers by craft job (4 retainers) 1 retainer for materia and special goods (raid logs etc) 2 for gear I dont want to farm again and 1 for current goods that I sell. Try to organize a bit more and the stress should go away

No it ain't, back when it first started it was bad, now you have enough space and you need it because of rare/ex items and you need to carry things you have item pops, items to sell while afk things you need to store for other jobs you use.

The title is poorly worded, the actual complaint is too many different types of inventories, not inventory space.

The person saying it's worse in XI is referring to there being so many different inventories, you have like 10 different inventories in that game and several storage systems that don't work with each other.

Here is why.
I can move apart things like glamour or items I don't wanna toss to chocobo saddle.

retainers hold other stuff I need later if new jobs are made and the stuff I have in inventory for me.
sometimes its good to have options.

As for the XI items thing I was just happy they made more inventory slots, cause back then it was horrible.

Acutally my complaint is both about inventories and inventory slots. We would have not had any need for the additional inventory slots had they actually sat down and provided a low maintenance and easily expandable solution. Heck the storage space used for the inventory slots we got in Stormblood may have even covered every single equipable item in the game.

I just wish we could condense them. I hate that I have to go digging through multiple retainers to find what I wanted. I end up with the same item across multiple inventories without realizing it, wasting space. Could I just have a single retainer inventory that grows as you get more retainers???? Like, a shared retainer inventory. That'd be great.
