How to fix the messy Glamor system

I've played all of those and i have never had to throw out possible looks for my clothes because of carryable inventory space in DC Online. DC online actually has an awesome glamour system. Everything you have ever worn is a possible glamour. WoW and GW2 have similar account level systems. Complaining about inventory in this context is different from complaining about inventory slots in general. 200 total glam items out of a million possible looks across 26 classes with 11 or 12 visible slots is pretty awful.

They over complicated what could have been a simple system.

Still needs rework.

they have, it is mind bogging how many questions you see about it in the NN.

To be fair on this specific system, they overcomplicate *every* system.

"You want to upgrade your Shire gear? Go buy tautest gobtwine from the vendor in the other building. Oh sorry, the belt doesn't use the same stuff as the rest of it. Oh, and you wanted to upgrade your relic gear too? I know we provide that service, but you'll have to hike back to Ishgard to get normal gobtwine bought with a different currency..."

So much running about when it could just be "pay X poetics to upgrade". Or at least have them stock their own upgrade items.

That also needs addressing. I do not think "To be fair" really fits here.

The fact you're mentioning buying more space when you say we "shouldn't have issues" shows it takes a lot.

Eliminate the need for keeping physical items. We should not need to have an actual item icon stored in anything resembling an inventory system.

...in other words, give us a f***ing Glamour Log. Problem almost entirely solved. To fully and completely solve it from there, allow us to attach Glamour appearances to Gear Sets. Done. I said "to be fair" as in, it's not like everything else is straightforward and it's a specific fault of the glamour system that it's overcomplicated. It's a running pattern of how they do things and it shouldn't be a surprise that a new system is complex like all their other ones.

Also I might be in the minority but the glamour plate system makes sense to me. It's not as good as if they'd built it from scratch, but it seems to work well as a system that's compatible with their pre-established method of applying glamours. It definitely needs improvements, but it has laid the groundwork to turn into a near-seamless "equip gearset and glamour simultaneously" system if they can lift the current restrictions.

I'm fairly sure the log that shows you killed or gathered or fished something is an entirely different ball of wax than a log that allows you to call up the appearance of any item and apply it to a current item you hold in your inventory.

The dresser does remove the requirement for keeping physical items. It just has a capacity. Have you seen peoples reaction to converting their items to entries in a "log"? It hasn't been well received.

The building blocks are in place, I'm hoping from here we get the rest of the set and not get told "ok.. that's it."
