Oh my. I was there for the 4.1 log in rush and I made it in while many others didn't. So this is a good thing, I think. Although I can see everyone piling around the aetheryte spam clicking and potentially make things worse lol

Thing is it doesn't say if you are a member of an FC your character can't buy. It states you may "Own one FC and one private house. The person who is head of the FC is considered as owner and may relocate that FC. It will count towards them as their one FC, regardless of who has permissions to relinquish/demolish. This is my understanding.

If you are a member of an FC with a house, then you own the FC house in SE's eyes, since some day you might inherit the FC if everyone else goes inactive.

It does. From that page.

"Has another character on the same World that is a member of a free company that owns land" and the column for Eligible to Purchase Free Company Land is "No"

It's as the MizArai described. And you would have to do what Flash says and leave the FC to purchase the land. That's a broken system when it actively encourages you to leave your FC.

i think they are doing it that way as another preventative measure against people hoarding

This is ultimately just the end result of what the community has been begging Square to do: Make it harder for people to hoard houses/buy them up for the express purpose of reselling.

Unfortunately they did that without realizing that anything Square does to inconvenience that small subset of players will also inconvenience everyone else in the process. Arguably moreso.

I doubt we will see anything on Personal housing for at least a week or two after its been available to FCs. The housing site itself says they will monitor the situation with housing and investigate the potential of allowing private purchases again. To me this means they will likely do a once a month data review the way it seems they handle server pop status checks.

2 weeks or more. Maybe a month. But we all know by that time it will be too late (people would made small FC) and a shitstorm will hit both
forums and Reddit.


I even see how people would flip houses with FCs. Buckle up people

the only way that can work in the new system is if someone wanted to have their own FC that doesn't currently own one... so -_-
