Hell that's why I'm leveling other DPS at the moment. I like the class but I don't get satisfaction out of hitting that ten second window every time like other people do; and actively feel like terrible when I miss even one window. That's not to say the class is bad however, just that I've come to an understanding since SB dropped that it's current incarnation isn't for me.

The rest? Ehhh, the only thing I dislike with SB is that we keep getting more of the same. I would like to see more game modes added and for them to actually make fates viable again, or hell give me a relic to actually work on. Right now there's very little to keep me grounded between patch cycles and that's a shame because I do recognize the level of effort the developers are putting in.

OP's complaints seem a little RNG-centric, but I agree with the general sentiment. I haven't really enjoyed SB at all compared to HW; the story doesn't feel as compelling, the duties feel bland and as a non-SCH healer main I was very disappointed with what little attention healers got in comparison to DPS. It feels very stale, and I've found myself gravitating towards DPS jobs this time around. Class balancing is all over the place, and it feels like each patch they pick names from a hat to decide who's getting buffed/ nerfed. The money-grabbing is much more blatant with the growing amount of Mogstation-exlusives and miserly free retainer space, and in general it just doesn't feel the same as HW did. A lot of people I know are taking a break because they're fed up with the game and I'm pretty much there myself. 4.2 will likely be make or break for me.

Honestly I dont believe its even remotely possible to please everyone here... yesterday I stumbled upon someone who were upset about the SMN-nerfs and felt that SAM is dealing to much damage - dont we all want to play the best and most powerful class? (Rhetorical question, please dont answer)
I can understand DRKs not being happy with the fundamental changes that have been made to the class - just how bards had every reason to upset about the changes HW made to their class (for everyone who doesnt know or remember: Wanderers Menuett was a buff that increased the bards damage by... 20% I think? But also turned the job into a caster by giving every skill a castbar, basically). But most of the times the cries and complains when it comes to class-balance are "My favorite job isnt OP anymore and someone elses job can deal almost as much damage now! UNFAIR!"

Class balance isnt there to make everyone excatly "happy" - its to ensure that every class has a real standing when it comes to content. Class balance is garbage if thats not the thing - and currently monk, samurai and blm (afaik) have been struggeling...

All the RNG that comes linked with AST becomes easy to handle once you accept the fact that, at the end of the day, who even cares how many Balances you're able to draw out? Like yeah, it would be awesome. But no. Just stop. Card effects or no, you're still gonna clear the fight so just heal. Oh, you're speed-running? Sad cuz you didn't get all the Balances? If that's the case, you need a break from the game, bro. o_o Geezus...

Anyways, I'm gonna finish my reply with the following example: Heavensward was great. I loved Alexander. It was my favorite. I liked it better than Deltascape. But hey, nobody does Alexander raids anymore. You're more likely to get people running older coils than Creator so, really, what would even be the point of going back?

stormblood made playing bard enjoyable again and I just hate the cold winte climax of the heavensward areas. For me, Stormblood is way more enjoyable.

Only thing i dislike about SB (up to the point of making this post) is the lack of content and still no relic quest which imo i think should been added at 4.05 or 4.1.
In terms of the changes to the game, most of it been pretty enjoyable.

The handling of Shirogane was horrible as many can probably agree.

Now we've been exaggerating a bit. Stormblood was a very very good expansion overall. I personally liked HW more because of the story and setting but SB was fun as well.
The only thing I didn't like about SB is what they did with some jobs. DRK comes to my mind right now.....

I have some understanding of what OP is refering to though. For me heavensward was the best of the three. I realy dont like the newer mechanics on the jobs such as the WHM lilys and MCH overheating
