They might be fun the first couple times you hear them, but keep in mind we usually are made to run these fights dozens of times. The boss shouting "SICKNESS MUST BE PURGED!" every other mechanic gets annoying really fast.

I would like this. It does make the battles feel a little more engaging.
The H sound is soft, people type "SLOPPEH" to repesent it because he elongates the Y sound and even increases pitch midway saying the Y sound..
SLOPPeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeee, he does not simply say "sloppy"

I actually really do enjoy Zenos' lines in his fight, and Susano's lines make that fight so much fun for me. I have to resist the urge to say the line along with him when he shouts 'WILD AND PURE AND FOREVER FREE!" :P
While I agree that I do like the voice acted battles, I'm pretty sure a QA with Yoshida about it would look like this:
Quote:
Interviewer: There are many icon battles in XIV that have wonderful voice acting that adds to the experience of the fights. Can we look forward to more battles including this in the future?
Yoshida: Voice acting is really expensive, even for a few small lines, so if we were to include more of those then we would need to take money from other places which could negatively impact the development of other content.
Interviewer: So what you're saying is you'd need more money.
Yoshida: Hai.
I loved being told to "DIE! DIE! DIE!" fighting that boss. It is still enjoyable for me to hear.
Some of the most memorable fights in the game are voice acted. Niddhog screaming at us in Dravanian, for example. Susano goes without saying. Even Sophia/Zurvan, though easy and badly designed, respectively, had fantastic voice lines.
I would love more voice acted boss fights but I understand the limitations.
