Usually cliff jumpers, anyone with 50% HP or less, enemy Battle Highs/Fevers, healers, or someone foolish enough to try to focus only on the ice and not even attempt to defend themselves. And naturally, anyone who tried to attack me first.
It's a lesser known fact that if ice resets - that is usually by wiping out the enemy team(s) there - you can score all 300 points from it, even if the ice was left at 1%. This is NOT easy to do, and requires a lot of coordination, not to mention your team knowing it's possible in the first place.
That aside, I think the only time I ever DID hit ice in the later days of Shatter (both pre and post-4.0) was if there was literally nothing else to shoot. Seize was different. You HAD to fight. Fight your way in, fight your way out; make the other team not want to chase you for fear of losing points. Shatter however, had people trying to promote "ice > kills" and that more often than not cost them. It's also worth noting that playing multiple objectives offset the importance of large ice. If you couldn't get into hit it, take some bases, take out some players. When all small ices activated first, it would be a while before the first large ice: PVP TIME! Those who tried to wait for the ice while the other two fought often found themselves in third place if they didn't act.
