Why I liked Dynamis (yes, it was a quest.) it was basically a very long quest with the added benefit of gaining armor drops and relic weapons as well.

Kinda shows no skill. I like long fights, want them for everthing
I would like more quests and sidequests, and for the EXP they give to be increased, but in return the amount of time and depth of them to be increased.
That way I don't have to grind 48/50 levels.
I wouldn't mind short and engaging. It's not the length of the fight matters, it's how you use it.
Mayhaps varied degree of enemy strengths. Weaker enemies more prone to attacking in groups or if you caught them solo, that's a short fight.
You go toe-to-toe solo with an Amal'jaa your level, that should be a more even matched fight.
And with any type of longer fight, the approproate loot rewards to go with (shards, hides, fleece, bomb ash, etc.)
I voted yes, although you have to take into account that longer fights means you can't fight as many enemies at once and the XP will be much slower.
If im honest I guess I would choose FFXI's style fights over FFXIV but increase the amount of XP gained so it didn't take too long to level.
I'd love longer battles as well; right now they feel way too inconsequential.
I'd be perfectly happy if it were just a smaller lengthening of the fights with an equal scaling of experience gains but...
Quite frankly I'd be all in favour of a significant lengthening, however.. .. and a Dark Souls-esque difficulty gradient and reward rate >.>;
I love these interesting threads that aren't about QQ/Appreciation/Quitting FFXIV, but are about asking the community what they want.
I'd love a good mix of short and long battles.
I have wished for longer fights since the game launched. I think the fights should be more engaging rather than just stringing your actions together as fast as you can. It makes defeating monsters feel less rewarding when they go down in mere seconds with relatively no risk.
That being said I would compromise with the increased time spent killing each, there would be an increase equally in EXP per mob. I just think the battles would feel like an accomplishment rather than a zerg of abilities.
