I don't walk up to the mobs. They walk up to me. Sorry, its not my fault when I do a level or what not, but when I shoot the mobs, they tend to dislike it, thus they attack me. Yep, you're trolling. Your punching does not make your Archer a melee. It is a RANGED. Where do you do the most of your damage, by SHOOTING the mob. By that logic, a caster is both a melee and a caster because they can hit shit with their weapon right? Not even going to waste time replying to you again after this. Perhaps you should Look melee up in the dictionary.
1. A confussed struggle.
2. A battle, physical conflict or fight amoung several people.
3. Refers to any confused tangle or agitated scramble, in particular unordered combat.

Your falsely comming to an illadvised and incorrect assumption that melee means close range physical damage. Just because you make those, false, uneducated assumtion, and call me a troll, does not make them true.

I agree, It definently made CNJ alot more versitile in my opinion, and defined THM more as a DD.
It brought a closing of the gap in the damage in the DoW classes.
I definently feel like it was a step in the right direction for tanking as well.
All and all I do feel some small tweeks and adjustments wouldbe benefitial.
Arc got a massive nerf last update, and Lnc got a ridiculous buff. Funny how they took 1/2 the nerf Arc took and they go crazy crying about it. It definently was needed to bring them at least closer to being on par with one another.

Archers don't punch the mob, they throw rocks at it. One of the original descriptions for Archers even mention they are good at throwing rocks.

Also: "Melee" has been adopted and popularized as a term in war-gaming, board games, tabletop role-playing games and video games to encompass all close-quarter fighting and directly striking an opponent at ranges generally less than a few feet with, but not only, fists, feet, knives, rifle-butts or any other melee weapon or special spells or tactics with the intention of causing harm.

Original descriptions, are you kiddng me? original descriptions also say THM are the masters of CC and Debuffing in FFXIV as well, whats your point? Try playing the class, they punch. If we were throwing a rock we would be able to be more the one yalm away to do it. Thus we would have a ranged AA.

Wikipedia is a free, web-based, collaborative, multilingual encyclopedia project supported by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. The definition I gave were actual facts and official definitions. not public concensus. just because 1 million people incorrectly use a word, or term the same way does not by any means make it true. Wikipedia is general reference, not always fact.

None of that changes the fact, that there was a need to level out physical damage of the DoWs, which is how this got started. Lancers all got there feelings hurt. They leveled the damage of the various DoW classes to solve the imbalance.

From a dictionary. hand-to-hand and a jumble imply close proximity, something Archers try to avoid. Plus they still throw rocks.

Last time I checked, A swift punch to the face was a melee attack.

The game is a work in progress and balancing the classes is a work in progress. You are not playing the finished version of your class. People need to stop looking at it like this IS how its going to be when 2.0 comes out.

I completely understand being frustrated with the current state of the game, but just remember as I said before it is a Work in progress.

this is not an excuse or white knighting, just my understanding of why it seems every Class seems to change with every new patch.

Be patient and try to enjoy the content you have for now.

or play Skyrim and TOR until 2.0 :)
