It doesn't say. However, considering "a" is meant to be akin to "one" and it's Balmung really having this issue, it's probably safe to assume it's Aether that will be experiencing this lovely addition only. Sitting here trying to remember the last time I saw an mmo where the people in charge had to actively spank its player base for bad behavior.

So instead of fixing the obvious exploit of using crafting to stay logged in for hours without being logged out they put in this nonsense?

Where is the logic in all of this?

Why are people complaining? More active players might actually make it into the game, even on those super servers, which might help trim down DPS queues.

Honestly part me thinks they're game is coded in such of way where they can't remove people from the game for clicking on aether, market boards, and crafting to avoid the current AFK system otherwise why would they implement such weird afk measures. That being said depending on what time of day they do it it should clear things up nicely.

That would take development time and testing time.
And likely not even be ready in time to help with the current situation.


It should still be done though, in preperation for next time.

These afkers that are the problem will not be able to log back in right away but they log in and got afk for HOURS like 8-10 hours while they at work or sleeping. But then I could only see this working if it was done at like noon as that when all the afkers are at the highest cause they at work like I said. But I also don't see them list a time so maybe it will be random each day so people just can't wait until after the daily purge to afk?

This is why we can't have nice things.

There's a fairly decent queue on Omega already during peak hours for the exact same reason. EU isn't being punished for Balmung. Nobody is being "punished" period. You're going to be logged out for 10 minutes with an hour notice. That's PLENTY of time to prepare even if you're in the middle of a raid. Take a pee break, refill your drink, and you're back on. Likely without a queue at all. The only exception for that might be the higher pop servers if there are still enough people actually active to make a queue. But that's an entirely different issue, and won't affect other servers at all.

For most small to moderate pop servers you'll be out 10 mins, and right back in.
