I'll say. Depending on how things go at endgame SCH may not be viable for raids due to it. Because 10% of your max MP for one Adlo is really overdoing it, it already costs about that much for a Succor!

Right now crit Adlo is the only thing scholar has that it brings to the table as a unique ability. I have a some what unpopular opinion of wishing that I could get rid of the faerie and just operate myself. I see no reason that Dissipate could have been a choice where you stance into a boosted shield stance. I love the naming conventions they are using A+ for Excogitation. I'm sad the eye for an eye is no longer unique. I feel like they should've gotten like samurai's 3rd eye effect but they cast it on a party member and can spread it with Deployment

in my mind SCH has had trouble defining itself as a healer because of the faerie crutch (faeries are cute and I dont wanna deny people that, but, AST cant just take all the best parts and have the other two fall back on their secondary traits). In all honesty they should've gotten a surefire crit (one time with a long cooldown) I feel like SCH is starting to make its way but will forever be held back by the faerie.

i'm so disgusted about the changes....SCH is my main since it was available i loved the job but now....it's just not fun without all the skills they erased....

i became a broil spammer wooot..amazing

You are right, using it before a Tank buster is ideal. But on occasion those busters, or skills that you know hit really hard, can get mitigated by other factors, Stun, Shield, Defensive CD. If that happens and the HP doesn't go below the 50% needed to activate the skill, then the buff will fall off, and basically you just wasted an Aetherflow stack for nothing. I could understand the timer if the CD was really short like Lustrate, maybe 10s, but for the current CD no timer should be needed. Or at least make it that if the players HP does not go below 50% in the allotted time frame it delivers a lesser heal, so the stack wasn't wasted. Ideally, Excognition's idea was to emphasis the Scholars healing style, allowing them to focus on other things. But if our entire DPS kit was gutted what are we spending that extra time on.

I for one saw these nerfs coming since 3.2 and mentioned on several occasions that Lily is too powerful, which was responded with, "She's already been nerfed" each and every time.

I wasn't shocked by SCHs dps potential being nerfed to the ground so much as I was by how neglected it was by the community not because of the WHM hate, but because of one single ability called chain stratagem. If WHM got this utility or something similar instead of SCH, all that hate would have been shifted right to SCH, and WHM would be shining bright right now with nothing but praise for the devs.

I still have to finish HW, and plan using my SCH at least to that point. After that, I might be looking for another main to share with my WHM. Sad time for SCHs right now.

It feels like I'm playing a level 15 Arcanist instead of my formerly BiS Scholar.

When I'm DPSing:
• I'm pressing nothing but Broil 80% of the time, which is mindnumbingly boring
• I press two DoTs once every 20ish seconds
• I have almost 0 AoE potential with the nerfing of Bane and Shadow Flare and can't even pretend to contribute with Blizzard II or Miasma II since they were removed.
• I can stare at all the abilities I get from 60-70 all I want knowing that I'm stuck with this horrible rotation for the foreseeable future.

When I'm healing:
• My pet heals feel like Eos learned how to turn on old Cleric Stance.
• My brand new Divine Seal buff doesn't help my pet or my instant heals.
• My Adlos cost almost as much as a Succor and are outclassed by AST's instant cast, cheaper version

Wanna fix sch? simple:
Bane: make it equal to all other aoes finishing at 50% on 5+, -80% is too much specially with only 2 dots.
Aetherflow: Put it back the 20% mp regen.
Adlo: return to the orginal mp cost formula. (Which already cost more than the AST better instant version)
Miasma: set it to 30s just like bio2 (same as smn)
Broil2: should cost just a tiny bit more than malefic 2 and less than stone 4.
Shadow flare: should have a 30s CD or even 40s, 60 is too high.
Fey Union: make it 20yamls. If you are going to lock our fairy to do a stronger regen it makes no sense to be such short range, This range thing is actually why cover isnt more used, it will suck to have the skill become useless if the target have to dodge an aoe and run out of range.

These changes are the big ones imo, and they need to be implemented if you wanna keep sch a float. The nerf hammer was completely unecessary at those points.
I agree with the embrace and illumination nerfs if those points are fixed.

DPSing, especially in solo content, is utterly boring now. The main thing I loved about SCH was the complex interaction between healing & DPS. If I wanted brainless I'd have gone WHM. >_>

I definitely was expecting another Fairy nerf this expansion (something to the tune of 175 potency/use), just not to the degree this is at right now. The key question that has to be asked right now - does the Fairy continue to lose power as the SCH grows from 60 to 70? Currently Embrace is worth approximately 166 potency/use to the SCH. If the trend continues like it did from 50-60, it's possible for Embrace to get even lower with an extreme curve of Embrace being worth 83 potency/use.. If it does continue to get lower, I hope it doesn't dip to that kind of extreme.

Also I made no mention about SCH's single target DPS - only their AoE DPS. Chain Stratagem compliments their single target nicely but did SCH really have to get hit in the AoE department as bad as it did? I don't think so. Even having Bane be -10% per monster after the first like Holy and Flare would've been expected, but this is a bit much when combined with the Blizzard II loss.

Admittedly, the higher MP consumption SCH now has potentially combined with their lower MP regeneration would most likely negatively affect their single target contribution but definitely not to the degree that SCH's AoE potential got nerfed into oblivion.

Excognition and Chain Stratagem are both good and I can see where they were going with Aetherpact but I don't feel that counteracts the nerfs SCH's kit suffered as a whole. SCH went from being too refined to basically the worst healer of the three.
