Is it just me or are people overreacting to WHM too soon?

They are definitely overreacting, because square enix employs teams of software engineers, well versed in the necessary math disciplines with years of experience.

It baffles me that a bunch of inexperienced people think they know more than the dev team. I am sure some of you may have some experience in software engineering, but most of you do not. If you're not a software consultant you shouldn't be trying to do SE's job.

What square enix wants to know from you is what you find fun! Rather then worrying about balance just say RNG in healing is stressful and not fun.

did you not see what astro and sch got , and see the trash whm got no i dont think anyone is overacting. Astro has cards , scholar has a fairy , what does whm have more heals, oh what do the other healers have heals. So basicly what whm got wasnt anything that the other two healers cant do because thats their core design all people wanted was a whm niche not more heals

No they are not overeacting but rather dissapointed.
I think you are overreacting over the overraction of angry mobs of whm's who has right to speak and give feedback in such a angry,dissapointed and sad manner.

Even with regen use, you're still using cure/cure 2. I've played all 3 healers and they generally all play similarly enough.
If the argument is Regen is enough to cover the healing needed, you should be DPSing anyway.

You've misunderstood then.

People are saying that lillies are confusing/unnacceptable because you are incentivized by the mechanics of the WHM job to MINIMIZE how many Cure/Cure 2 you throw out there. Of course you use them, but why would you tie a new system to the 2 spells that every other one of your tools is designed to take the place of in certain contexts.

I've asked this question to multiple nay-sayers, when the raid is hit by an attack striking all 8 players, should I cast Medica I to bring them all back to health efficiently or should I cast Cure to try and get more lillies. This is an awkward decision to have to make and is replicated among each of the non-Cure spells that WHM has access to. This is the problem we are trying to bring attention to.

Because you haven't even played it yet. If SB comes and everything is as bad as all the doomsayers claim, go crazy. Declare the devs don't care, that they randomly break the game on a whim, killed jobs with their incompetency, that you're cancelling your sub in protest, all the stuff people have been shouting the last couple days.

But at least have actually tried playing it first rather than declaring they killed all the jobs based on the theory of the new tooltips alone.

I wouldn't mind the RNG so much if it synergized with the correct skills in the WHM toolkit, but it does not. You do not need to be a software engineer to be able to make this claim, that's an absurd requirement.

Now you are catching on. If you are DPSing you gain no lilies so what is the point of them? Are you saying it is a good thing to have a mechanic that during normal play will be IGNORED? Do any of the other healers (or hell, even classes) deal with that? No.

Again, how are the tool tips we've been given a theory. Those appear to be the descriptions of how the skills work. I sure do hope they change before release, but if no one says that they are I'm going to assume they won't. So I'll start giving my feedback now tyvm
