For this type of content, I'm hesitantly in agreement. Unrestricted melding on uncommon items would be ok. I'm thinking along the lines of some of the other posters: green items meldable, purple items not (better stats than currently).

+1d, but again, depends on what they do with balance between ra/ex gear and crafted gear. atm single meld on crafted gear makes darkhold stuff look like shit.
