White eyes, no eye. Noone is bothered? (spoilers)

His eye got injured fighting a bear which explains the eyepatch. When you talk to him in Ishgard after (or before?) saving the hostages from Halonic clergymen, he says his eyes are fine and is only keeping the eyepatch since the ladies seem to like it. Not sure what it says in other languages though.

Although we do find out about Y'shtola's blindness from her sister, I think.

So you want to say, that they will notice here strange eyes only in the Alex story? Strange...

Alot of things are weird in this game when it comes to the story:

- Why cant my character who is a Monk not beat some weak thug, when they are unarmed.
- Even if you level up other classes, while some characters will call you with a titel that fits those Jobs, the WoL himself/herself will forget everything that they learned from the other guilds when playing as certain Job.
- Esuna and Raise spells is something that our WoL is unaware off during the Main Story Questline.

There are probably more /facepalm moments, but I wish SE paid attention to these things. Both Scions eyes are explained, one is if you talk with him and the other is told via the Main Story Quest.

And if you don't have those spells? What then?

Is anyone else really bothered by the fact than Thancred kept his 18 year old appearance glamored for decades? Only now that he can't use magic do we see his true age and older appearance.

The lifestream is pure Aetheric energy. Its not another dimension. She was literally in the form of disembodied Aetheric energy. We know this. Its a part of what happens every time you teleport. What happened with her is she got stuck because she teleported without a 'anchored' destination. Given time her energy form would eventually just dissolve into the Aetherial Sea.

We know what happened to her and frankly she probably has no memories of being in that form.

Part of this is simply limitations on how many variation they can take into account and make in the story. If they need someone to die generally they cant allow the WoL to save them. Mechanically its not completely unanswerable. For example there are some things you cant Esuna.

Likewise there are times you character could beat a week thug but doing so would make matters worse. I am assuming your refering to 2.55. While you could have probably punched you way out, then what? The fact your resisting arrest is just making you look more guilty. Its not like any of the Syndicate have visibly broken any laws. There are times that resorting to fighting would only make the situation worse. Same reason you cant just burn off Lolorito's face the next time you meet.

The lifestream..... enough said. It was explained to us in the story, but some people dont read.

At the time this happened, you're trying to outrace Thordan to Azys Lla and you're not really going to pressure someone into spilling the truth on something she herself insists is fine. Matoya tells us, the player, what's up with Y'shtola's eyes; having spent time in the Lifestream, it has granted her the ability to see aether as well as having lost her actual sight. This ability also comes at the cost of a shortened lifespan. Still, Y'shtola has told the Warrior of Light and her other fellow Scions that she is alright, even if that is not the truth. We also already know what happened and that's why we go to Gridania to seek the Seedseer's help to bring her back in the first place. This being she used a forbidden teleportation spell that was outlawed because of how dangerous it was as many had lost their lives, before, using it. Like they, she also became trapped in the Lifestream, but unlike others, she had companions with the connections to recall them back within a time-frame that meant she could even be saved.

Also, have you seen a naturally blind person's eyes? They tend to be milky, much like Y'shtola's eyes now. It's an aesthetic to demonstrate that she is actually blind now, yet so many can't seem to recall this "small" detail.

This is why I wish sometimes the games would differentiate between death and knocked out. Oh wait, they do. Players just don't, for some reason. You can't raise the dead without it being necromancy and as we've seen, it's not the same as what we do. What you are doing is a glorified version of using smelling salts on someone asleep. The alchemist quests even "succeed" in reviving someone from the dead as they were prior to death - extremely temporarily, until they vanished. Remember, when someone dies, their aether is moved to the Lifestream, but voidsent are continuously looking for ways into our realm. Why do you think the skeletons and raised dead are always referred to as voidsent? You know, like in Mhach after that one crew of pirates, freshly slain? They aren't human anymore - they're possessed by voidsent and have actually become them (THM quests actually show us this to an extent, though possession on a living person rather than a dead husk).

I'm pretty sure they nobody asked about her eyes, because she was exposed for a long time to a river of Lifestream, and as mentioned in some of the dialogue during Y'shtola's return, it can have dangerous results to the body and even change it. And Thankcred also was exposed, but for a short period, but enough for him to lose the ability to use Aethereal teleportation, which may resulted in his eye change.

I don't think anything is wrong with Thancred's eye, probably just an aesthetic thing.

As for Y'shtola, Matoya said that she'd lost her sight from being in the Lifestream that long and was now using some sort of technique to sense the aether around her to "see", which in turn is slowly shaving away some of her lifespan. If I recall correctly, she said she didn't want to mention that to the others, I can't remember exactly what she said though.
