Blue Mage: FFXIV Style

People would spam that to 1 shot allot of mobs.

No, but BLU in XI was true to it's roots, i.e a debuffer and basically mage oriented DD class. Definitely nothing pet related, I get that every run of the mill MMORPG nowadays has a pet system, but BLU isn't a pet job of any kind.

I will personally say though it'll be almost impossible to top the Lore and story of a Blue Mage from XI, since it was just so well done and actually rooted in how an empire works.

All mob abilities were available to "learn" at launch because of how the game handles TP moves and equipping.

Right. I don't want BLU to be a pet job in any capacity. And yes, BLU's lore was incredible in XI. fell in love with it even as I was unlocking the job.

Doesn't necessarily need to be a pet job. Just needs monster interaction and situational control. The pet class would make sense as one of the foundations for unlocking it.
