Only 1536 apartments per server?

Watching the live stream last night... I'm kind of getting the impression that the apartments are really just designed to be a different type of housing... and not a cure-all for our housing woes. Maybe their version of a cure-all for the housing woes of have-not's is just to bombard us with housing options... in waves... So like...eventually anyone that wants something will be satiated if they are able to be around that release date...and if you miss, you can wait for next wave in 3 months. The more options we have, the more spots will be popping up available too... I can imagine lots of people with small houses might be tempted to drop that to try out the brand-new apartments.... Seems like a side grade. Having that little communal area might be better than having a front yard but who really knows...yet.

I'm in a great FC, and guess what?
We don't have a house since there hasn't been an open plot for us to buy on Lamia in months.

Apartments were our latest chance at housing...

They did say they considering addding more housing plots in 3.5 if apartments will not be enough. My only disappointment is that apartments will be small.

So everyone transfers and creates a grossly overpopulated server.

Then they cry that there aren't enough limited resources to go around.

Maybe you should've realized that there are pros and cons to being on a populated server?

Sorry, but I disagree. *ALL* servers need more wards, not just Balmung. Sure Balmung is the most populated, but the players made it that way. I am sorry to sound harsh, but If you want to play on the most poulated server then you have to also have to deal with problems caused by that over population.

SE shouldn't devote resources to creating workarounds/differences for some servers just because of player created problems. Although I do believe that turning off any transfers at all to Balmung would help out a lot...

I don't get why this is hard to grasp for some people. SE screwed the pooch when they made the personal housing system. People can go on all day about the pros and cons of server population, but it boils down to the system that was implemented. It's not just Balmung and Gilgamesh with this issue.

My workaround for "no personal housing"? An alt in a solo FC. I'm sure other people would have the same idea. If you're going to blast personal house owners, blast owners of solo FC housing, too.

Long story short, the onus is on Square to make sure that there's enough housing supply to meet the demand. Players shouldn't be made to feel like they don't "deserve" something because some other player wants it and doesn't have it.

Already said this in the other thread about this same topic, but I hope people with personal housing have enough decency to not buy the apartments and leave them to people who don't have their own houses yet.

Silly entitled city folk XD (big server pun) I've said it and ill say it a million more times since SE has made it fairly clear they don't give a hoot about Balmung, gilg, and Sagittarius's self made housing problem. just offer a few days of player transfers, and don't allow transfers to those servers during that time. If the player base doesn't take that opportunity. Its on them not SE.

Sorry I don't buy the mentality. The guys at the amusement park aren't allowed to put extra people on the ride because they can get more money. They knowingly have allowed the population to increase. If they had truly locked Gilgamesh and Balmung at 2.0 we would have 4 even servers. Or how about the thousands that they have taken money from to let them on, I blame dealers as much as the addicts.
