Forcing NA Duty Finder to be better, we need a grading system.

You have forgotten the part that this system can also be abused as well.

Expect there to be players who would rate players as low rank not for their skill but because they want the lol or personal issues with the person.

A person can perform exceptional and have a great positive personailty but get rated a F rank by another player who is a "elitist" jerk but remained completely silent through the run to avoid revealing their "elitist" personality.

Then there is also the DF Roulette which was incorporated to get players in Duty Finder to help players who are new or cannot find a group for a specific contents.

This system would go against the purpose of DF Roulette introduction in 2.X which was to get Veteran players to help those players.

The system would calculate your rank, the players won't. It'd be calculated via various stats such as healing done, damage done, overheal percent, etc.

Let's keep the rating scales to single player games like DMC, Sonic Adventure, and otherwise. I can't see anything good coming out of this and top players that DO get top ratings would use this to discourage other people. This isn't just a "lol you're shooting down the idea already" response. It's a reality that will happen.

As other people have said, it's already fine enough just to use Party Finder if you're that anal about people that have the capacity to play their class to the fullest.

What does this leave?
People with the same mentality towards content to do content the way they are done together and fester the general performance of players.

You want people to be more like they are in Japanese society? I'll let you in on a secret. A thread like this isn't some kind of step forward. It's a step backward. Japanese people are polite and uphold a certain standard of honor. They don't step on the necks of their enemies or people who are in contest with them. Read Bushido by Tsunetomo Yamamoto. It's a small book that was written in eighteenth-century Japan. Maybe instead of blaming the game and trying to incorporate systems to marginalize suppress and upset small groups of people based off your standards. People should look in the mirror and ask themselves if they're the problem.


You said it yourself. If everything is working fine on JP servers. It must be really embarrassing to be part of the North American servers if we need a system which could cascade and escalate to that of something really dangerous and far more toxic to the community.

Systems exist in the game right now to avoid playing with the undesirable. Instead of forcing dangerous systems into effect. I think people would be far more happy to play with people whom they won't complain about. Meet people, take the initiative to form groups, and make Party Finders. it exists for a reason. But too few use it because most people take the path of least resistance. Nothing wrong with that in this case. But if the path of least resistance is really pissing you off. Then maybe put effort into something for a change. Usually it results in something pretty cool. But some people here don't want to hear the truth; And that's unfortunate... For them anyways. I don't really care. All I can do it try help you, Like so many people here claim to be trying to do for new players or those who are refusing to learn or try something different.
Must feel pretty shitty being the ones on the other side of the fence refusing to take other peoples advice. But, that's all I can do, is suggest alternative courses of action. That's all anyone can and should be able to do. Even with how much I hate that Elitist tank in the other Thread. The one who unfortunately has been name shamed... I don't believe I have the right to "Rate them" or anything. I do think they should grow up... but It's not my place to give them a 0/5 Stars. the complaints could be isolated incidents. I dunno the person.

If you are looking for players with the same skill level as you and/or perform at a personal expectation level then that is the function of the Party Finder.

When you sign up for Duty Finder you are signing up to work with a group of random players of different skill level.

What if my personal expectation is for the other members of the party to play with consideration that they're playing with 3 other people? I mean I've mentioned it in the other thread, for some reason everyone loses every reasonable judgement when it comes to making this sort of call. I personally do not expect people to play 1k dps or savage tier in a EX/60 duty finder, but I do expect them to have the very least the understanding of basic gameplay and their job. Anyone at level 60 that still doesn't do a 1-2-3 combo or understand how BLM spells work is what triggers me. and honestly I don't see why this sort of performance at level cap should be given a pass (especially if it's done intentionally)

I think overhealing would be weird to calculate, especially when you're paired with a healer you don't know. If the MT needs heals for example and you don't know if the other healer is gonna get him or not and you cast yours while they use an instant heal or something, you end up overhealing.

I'm not sure a grading system is a good idea. The japanese community seems better but I think we should just accept that there is a wide gap in our culture and the way things are done. I can see it causing many problems even if you were to be the only one to see it.

EU servers seems to be at an in-between in my experience playing on Phoenix. A or B usually defaults to main tank but generally people dont seem to care who main tanks. Ive only seen one time where tanks were fighting each other for aggro here. Though that was just a troll in VA

One could argue PVP is competitive. At best, this system might be implemented in pvp. But I'd prefer it be left out of PvE content.
