Quick update of sorts... Had a chat with Optus tech support and this was the result:
(Optus tec):Our lead technicians had checked the routing of the NA server and it looks like it's connecting to a CA server and causing drop outs
(Optus tec):It's actually something that we are unable to control on our end
(Optus tec):You may need to contact the host to check it on their end as well
You:Oh dang, okay. would you be able to perhaps tell me why this issue seems to only be affefcting Optus users if that's the case then? :/
(Optus tec):I've actually requested for our lead technicians to look into this further since you did advise that only Optus customers are affected

(Optus tec):We'll check if there are anything that we can do on our network then for you

Also sent a tweet to Optus, but it seems as if they're not replying to me, lol.
Edit: also opened a SE ticket. lets hope this gets resolved soon! If you guys could maybe help speed up the process by sending in some too... LOL
