After trying it out in 8v8 and 4v4 more I'd like to say separate things about each.
4v4 - Battlefield feels empty, less strategy available using LoS, Ranged have a much easier time turreting, healers have an easier time healing, adrenaline box feels too accessible without the walls ex. before going after adrenaline without being near your healer could be risky and open up counter play where as now it's very simplified =/, the lack of walls makes the matches feel less exciting and the map feels too open for 8 players.
8v8- As there are more players on the battlefield and all crate buffs are randomized, the wall removal actually makes the topside of the battlefield more open, and gives more freedom of mobility for 16 players. Random crates encourages checking the lower level now, and with said lower level there's still multiple options for LoS and strategy. This feels more fun and balanced with the wall removal and the middle crate being accessible doesn't mean as much since Adrenaline can spawn in crates on the lower level and top level opening up counter-play if you break away to go down and check or get them.
If possible I'd prefer they make this separate, 4v4 = old map, 8v8 = new map with less walls.
