Gauss Barrel

It wouldn't be so bad if the Barrel actually ended up on the end of ALL guns. For many guns it kinda floats off detached from the actual muzzle... really looks silly.

As for what has been said about the holding, yes they need to fix that. Even when you fire it one-handed you fire it wrong compared to how you'd one hand fire a pistol IRL. (Free hand rests on your hip for balance, anyone who has taken PAL/Gun safety courses knows this). Not that you'd be reasonably able to fire a gun that size one handed....

It's irked me to no end how everything regarding a machinist holding/firing their gun is entirely off from how you ACTUALLY handle firearms IRL.


P.S. Though I think it's silly to not level the class just cause of aesthetics.... :P

I personally prefer smaller guns, and none of them look good with the Unfun Barrel in my opinion.

This, take time to percicely aim skills to inflict 30% more dmg, the additional concentration used for aiming shots requires you to no longer fire auto attacks to preserve energy for aiming. Something like this makes soo much more sense... Also, make movement not interrupt, but either reduce acc of the skill being cast or not grant the 30% increased dmg due to not getting the aim on the move.

With fights like Sephirot Extreme that require constant movement/knockbacks (especially the last phase), ranged and casters seem to be at a bit of a disadvantage. I'm used to working hard for big damage, but that fight seriously just burns me out nice and quick. THEN there's the whole aspect of dealing less damage natively for being "Support" (but not Support. . . yeah), AND taking a further hit to damage dealt for using the support skills we're designed with.

Ninjas don't take a hit for using Goad, DRGs don't pay a price for using Battle Litany, hell, healers don't take a hit for dpsing (outside of Cleric Stance, of course). Why are MCH and BRD penalized for doing what we're designed to do, yet expected to keep up in our primary role of dealing damage?

Seriously, SE it's time you review these far more important aspects of ranged physical DPS. We're NOT casters, everyone provides some kind of party support now, but only WE pay a price for it, and most if not all MCH hate the Gauss Squid. Please give these their due revision.

This is a thread about the aesthetics of the gauss barrel, not the ability/stance itself. OP should of specified that in the topic, but that is what it is.

Things that they should have a On/Off Toggle for:
- MCH's Gauss Barrel and Lunchbox
- BRD's Quiver
- AST's hip-mounted duel disk

Maybe do a button on the equipment screen for "Weapon-Extras", like they did with Sheathed Weapons and Headgear?

Just change the name from "Gauss barrell" to "Gauss stance". While in Gauss stance you hold the gun with two hands instead of one.

I don't find anything particularly wrong with the stance. The job was built from the ground up to work with it, unlike BRD.

The aesthetic is the biggest gripe to me.
