same here. I opened the game on ps4, did the automatic launcher update, and then when it tried to reopen, got the error message:

Sadly, there's no way I can re-download 40 GB of data because the cost to my ISP will be roughly equivalent to a 6 month subscription to FFXIV just to give an example.
This is unacceptable, because nowhere did it say in the patch notes or when I subscribed for 6 more months 2 weeks ago, that this would happen.
This isn't a solution. Especially since FFXIV is the only PS4 game that locks me out of my console when it updates and I can't even play other games, because unlike all other games, it doesn't download patches in the background.

For everyone having issues with the CE-30022-7 error: what sort of hard drive is in your PS4. I upgraded to a SSD+HDD hybrid 5 weeks ago and still had my PS4's original hard drive. I put the original drive back in and was able to successfully update.

Agreed. Luckily, deleting and reinstalling worked for me.
But it shouldn't have had to be this way. I shouldn't have had to waste about 7 hours redownloading something I already had due to a patch. Hopefully SE addresses the matter. I understand that accidents happen, but after looking here and at Reddit, this problem is pretty widespread. They need to make a statement of some sort. Ignoring the problem, and those affected, is just bad manners.

20 hours after maintenance ended. Square Enix is silent on this issue caused by their update. You don't get to not acknowledge it Square Enix, you don't get to sleep on it and relax when you run a Global service with subscribers from all time zones on the Planet.
You should be communicating with us, be fixing it right now, and don't forget that in 4 hours I'm entitled to a 1 day subscription extension.
The reason is not this. I have the default PS4 HDD and I have this error.
How can this not even be acknowledged officially yet?
It's been 31 hours and 18 minutes already and we still can't get in our game.
Acknowledge it, fix it immediately and extend our stolen subscription. Not that this will fix the ruined experience for us.
