Diadem Gear > (Alex Norm / Savage, Crafting, PVP, VA, Extreme primals, tome) gear?

Wouldn't surprise me if this gear is a weird preview of what stats gear can have when they add the materia slots to tome gear whenever they do.

Meh not like diadem gear will matter in 3.2 normal alex will drop 220 gear, tomestone gear will be 230 and alex gear will be 240

I'm not a raider. I don't play even close enough. However - I can certainly see how raiders would be upset and it's clear that you're missing the point. Top raiding groups pride themselves on being amongst the world's first. Not my cup of tea - but I will always respect another's hobby.

Where you're missing the point is that the gear from Diadem can be better than raiding gear. This means that when the next patch arrives - there will be some raid groups that are in a "better" position from day one than others based purely on RNG. The best raid group in the world might get horrible Diadem drops and the second best raid group might get countless miracle drops giving them a huge edge next patch. Hardcore raiders are now forced to grind Diadem if they want a shot at being world first next patch rather than playing the content that they enjoy. The random stats that are better than raid gear is an issue.

So, in short terms, you want some gear to be the best for two consecutive patches. You want raid gear to stay the best for half a year before having to replace it with... new raid gear.

You should start to wrap your mind around the idea that raid gear is the best only for the current patch before having alternatives or better replacements the next one, or you'll be disappointed every time an odd numbered patch comes out.

With Coat and twines you get "same" gear as a raider. A raider with gordian pieces have better gear than non-raiders.
The point is, you don't need to raid, Diadem could be better than esoterics gear and gordian gear.

The fact, Weapons like heavens bow in thordan EXT is better than Esoteric weapon.

Totally agree with everything you said. Fitting, that your name is Mature. As that was one of the most mature posts I've seen on here. Besides, I always felt that the true prize for beating savage was more bragging rights and less on gear.

2.0 - 2.1
Mixed Myth and Allagan > full myth gear

2.2 - 2.3
Mixed Soldiery and High allagan gear > full Soldiery gear

2.4 - 2.5
Mixed Dreadwyrm and Poetics gear > full poetics gear

3.0 - 3.1
Full Diadem gear with good rolls and RNG > Mixed Esoterics and Gordian > full Esoterics.

Now sum the effort to get allagan gear - high allagan gear - dreamwyrn gear and Gordian gear against faceroll NM and stars monsters.
One type of gear need you to improve, to be a good player, the other one, just a ship, RNG and good rolls.
