Shields & Parrying in 1.19

No, a parry still causes you to take damage. Miss does = evade tho.

Not sure what other class gets a counter ability upon evading but for Pugilists our abilities our useable upon either miss OR evade now, so I'd like it to stay. Although I did like the evade animation.

Every miss counts as an evade now. You can use jarring strike and haymaker with every miss.

This may get escalated significantly faster in the Bugs forum.

Sorry for taking so long to get a response to you all about this. This isn't actually a bug, as with the changes made in patch 1.19, you can only focus on blocking when you have a shield equipped and will be unable to parry.

so why is there +parry in tank gear?

because you can tank without a shield? (MRD) I dunno.. just throwing it out there.

cant parry with a shield, but u can parry with an axe...

This. a Marauder's source of blocking or evading is parrying, though it doesn't happen quite often as much as Pugilist can evade or Gladiators can block with shield.

I thought this was 'working as designed' since you should fight differently w/out a shield.
