Maybe I should be more clear.
The defense stat doesn't do anything. (So stuff that augments it, like Foresight and Protect, don't do anything)

The vulnerability thing is different from what I was getting at.

I'm aware what you are getting at, i'm more than aware things that increase def and mdef, i literally just told you that in my previous post

riceisnice was referring to the vulnerability stat, not the defence stat that you mistook her for thinking of
