Testing on my ast and sch I'm finding the difference is negligible. From everyone on the other thread, mathematically ast's non-crit shield is better by 2-3 potency at best. This is the very definition of being overdramatic. And considering that non-crit shields aren't the only aspect of the two classes, my point stands.

They had to make A.Ben's shield portion stronger because the spell was directly competing with Benefic II. The only reason you'd ever use A.Ben was for its shield to begin with.

In what world 300 potency + the bonus from the sect + the 130% bonus is exactly 2-3 potency over succor?

The AST that tries to override SCH shield is doing something wrong. AST should be in Diurnal when in a party with a SCH.
If you're talking about people bring AST over SCH, don't worry. SCH still has it's uses.

In the real world. The one where nothing you just said makes any sense. First, A.Bene isn't 300 potency, it's 250. Second, why are you comparing A.Bene, a single target heal, to Succor, and AE heal?

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks the AST changes make them too good. It's normal heals are as powerful as WHM, it's regen is almost on par with WHM, it has a better self healing buff then WHM. Add in the fact it can buff the party, i can't see why people would use WHM now. They should've made the self/party buffs AST has better and gave it better MP management, the increase of healing potency feels like a joke.

maybe because im talking about aspected helios? but fine take it as you wish your ast normal non crit a benefic still shield and heal for more than adlo and its not a "mere" 2-3 potency

Nah, SCH is fine (and still better than AST in many ways).

The only problem SCH has is that Dissipation sucks, but it always sucked and needed fixing, long before AST got any changes.
