What happens to a Dragoon after a missed a Jump?

I've always wondered why NIN gets reduced fall damage while DRG does not...

Lol WoL can't jump like the rest of dragoons only because other classes can't do this. For example in The Aery what if player is a non DRG? How do you propose for him to make that jump? And if you allow to travel via jumps while traveling then it will just make DRG superior to all mounts XD And in DRG story you can't jump just because you suppose to fill the role of background decoration while given some NPC opportunity to shine and whatsoever. So it always just game mechanic / balance or story wise justifications. Basically - 'cause it's MMO.
