What happens to a Dragoon after a missed a Jump?

I've always been wondering, and not sure if this was brought up before, but
What happens to a dragoon if she/he missed a jump on a dragon during the defense of Ishgard?
I mean it's bottomless cliffs all around the city, do they at least have a back up grappling hook, or some other ways for a safe landing? Or is it that dragoons' endurance is so great that they can sustain the fall at terminal velocity? xD

Maybe they just jump again in mid-air.

Edit: OR you rarely see Dragoons miss their jumps ... those less accurate Dragoons don't live long enough to earn the title. :P

There is a reason for all the dragoons on the dungeon floors, ya know. Failure to jump properly. :P

From what was shown with Dragoon NPCs in cutscenes, Dragoons trained in Ishgard are highly trained at landing from very High altitudes to the point they can even scale up a mountain just by jumping and travel far distances as well with their Jumping skills.

However, our character is not that skilled with his or her Dragoon Jumping ability as the Ishgardian Dragoons are due to having different training so our character isn't that skilled with high altitude landings nor long distance travel with our Jump ability.

Well, if you looked at the HW trailer closely, there's one drg that never land his jump because he got snatched by the flying dragon...will this considered as a missed jump? lol

When they "miss" a jump, they're actually attacking the floor to get aggro.
