Well, we did see Derplander, or at least a near facsimile or likeness of him, on the moon. Why kill interest in something people are clearly eager to explore the possibility in?

The thing we see someone that looks like things is not telling us nothing. A clear example is the
heavensward launch trailer. We see derplander in all cutesenes. So if he is there, who is the one on the mon ._:
Is common sense, derplander being the default WoL. So that one on the moon is the defacult WoD aka our oposite representation, i dont need to say much more. right?
Ok, there's your Theory. I had no problem with you having an opposing theory but never state anything as fact on the Lore Forum unless The Great Eye Ball said it.
Personally, I'm not one to believe that Derplander himself is in the game world at all. But even I can't deny the "OMG IT'S DERPLANDER!!!" reaction I had when the WoD was revealed in that CS.
*sigh* It's been explained that the Derplander in the trailers both is and isn't a representation of our character. It's entirely possible that in the trailers he is but (as Fernhalwes has suggest is possible) when we finally see him in the game, he isn't such a thing.
Lol im confuse is he or is he not? xD
Look all I tried to said that, just beacuse you see someone that looks like him, doesnt mean he is actualy him. You can just be like, "OHH LOOK IS DERPLANDER, HE IS THE WOL, THERE IS NO ORTHER POSSIBLE EXPLANATION AND IM GONNA STICK TO MY POINT A 100%"
he looks like him, but there much more evidences that point that he is not, but there is no strong on both so says, so we cant make this hard speculations, not until we find more on future patches.
Did you notice that in heavensward quests we got more often some dialogue choices which will work on npc reactions toward us.
In Arr we were just a window dressing shaking the head when someone proposed us to do something.
Now we can choose us a kind of personnality. Would it be a transition to a possibly way to play a Antihero ?
For purposes of consistency, you can interpret the trailers as him reliving the WoL's memories through the Echo which, I've been told, it was capable of in 1.0.
I don't know if you can consider most of the HW trailer canon anyway since I'm assuming it reflects an earlier iteration of the plot in which Nidhogg and Hraesvelgar had their positions reversed. Not surprising considering it took 12-18 months to make.
