To be fair it looks like quite a bit more than that.
- Rather than doing DoT damage like that lame WoW encounter you linked these explode (you'd expect doing much more damage possibly killing many).
- Also the big frontal attack that Ifrit does could make things interesting especially if it has a knock back. If we assume that you can't exit the flaming area without dieing that could be a factor in the fight as well as you can't butt him up against a wall (hopefully).
- It looked like he teleported himself randomly at times before firing his frontal.
- He splits into 3 at one point (shadows or something?)
- At the end it appeared he setup pillars creating a kill zone possibly, it is possible these have to be destroyed before he does that move that wiped the group.
So I'm hoping it is quite a bit more complicated than simply don't stand in the fire. What would give it more life though no matter how it is designed is giving us different incapacitation to use for better chance at loot, and to reduce the effectiveness of certain abilities (or make him generally weaker).
What the hell does Yoshi have against the incapacitation system? They are a big part of the World NM's Tanaka gave us, then we go in Darkhold and bam! Everything drops from a chest, so much for letting us try to get incaps as an alternative goal during the fight...
this is a prime example of noob mages not knowing how to player thier class.
conjurer was my first ever class and played it slowly all up to R50.
i hadnt played it in months, as i've since then got R50 archer and glad/shield, jumped on conjurer for darkhold run, absolutely 0 points in mind vit pie or int and still managed to own the class.
SE needs to slow down the leveling ALOT so people actually have to learn to play thier class instead of just cruising along letting everyone else do the work for them.
Ifrit is just awesome! :D
I want to know what you get for killing him. Besides a lodestone achievement that is.
