We get to name our Chocobo too^^ Wasn't expecting that in the first wave :D Hopefully once females are introduced we can freely change to one rather than having to get a new one :P

well if this might calm you a bit more. You have to buy your next rank with those same seals too before you can use that 3000 seals on the chocobo. We have yet to find out how much that will cost us to achieve the next rank and full induction into the GC
