I'm the one who makes food in home, it's annoying being kicked every time i have to cook, so no please.
And it's not like we can't bypass it.
This won't happen because the feature is client-side, you actually get a 20 second logout timer (like you do when logging out in a non-sanctuary) with the yes and no options when the time is up. The feature simply initiates the logout command with the 20 second timer even in sanctuaries, which is why it can be bypassed by afking in an activity that prevents logging out in a normal way.
Reason people craft-afk etc. is simple, they don't want to take the risk of not being able to login again because of 2002 errors (which are even more infuriating than 1017 because you get booted to desktop). Back during launch days, I remember being unable to login for 3 days, I don't find it unreasonable to be unwilling to have that experience again.
as a publisher, there's no reason for them to not want more online characters even though they're AFKing.
they want new players to see how their game has so many players.
this 30 mins kick out thing is temporary and I think they want to disable it as soon as possible.
So do I, and I log off when doing so. I fail to understand why you need to be logged in if you're not even playing.
I really hope the auto-kick stays in place. It's necessary in my opinion. It helps reduce lag by clearing out idlers, who won't be missing out on much since they're not even there. The only arguments against the afk system are from those who find it 'too annoying' to log back in. I chalk that up to simple laziness, which the devs certainly shouldn't pander to.
It's not a problem once the servers are stable, but afking players are not exactly a problem in less populated servers either. It should stay for heavily populated worlds (but it's client-side so it won't) but lesser ones don't need it after the initial rush is over. But as long as the servers are not that stable, people are not willing to take the risk of not being able to login again. Ss I mentioned, I had a horror experience of being unable to play for 3 days and completely fell behind in progression, this was 1017 and not 2002, but still. I'm not willing to experience that again.
