Keep the 30min auto-kick system?

I think they should keep it, i didnt even crash or get kicked once on early access,
and i wouldnt mind keeping it.

Information from patch notes:

[2.0] To reduce server congestion after the release of patch 3.0, players who are inactive for thirty minutes will be logged out automatically.

* We will continue to monitor server activity and remove this feature when server congestion is determined to no longer be an issue.

If I can ever get logged in, I never want to log out. I hope this isn't a thing that sticks around. I'll just find a mechanism to nudge my controller every so often when I need to go AFK.

i think it should defiantly stick around for a few more days while the actual release takes place but shouldn't be needed a week or so after that. SE just really needs to realize the investments FFXIV will be and upgrade the hell outta their servers. Should be coming up soon anyways if they are planning to do ishgard housing. The only way the housing situation would be truly fixed is if they got their own dedicated servers.

Sure, keep it. It's easy enough to get around it anyway, since all the old "exploits" that people used to get around it at 2.0s launch still seem to work.

I've always been in favor of the 30min afk-kick, at least for the larger servers. I don't understand why people want to keep their character afk for days when there are no login issues like 2002. If they did keep it, however, they would need to try to close some of the loopholes otherwise it won't help significantly.

Most of the community does not seem to agree since it was very unpopular at 2.0s launch.

Wow, I hope psychic isn't your day job then. I haven't been keeping my character logged in for hours. The only time I have had her logged in that long in the past is when I forgot she was logged in. I do understand people's frustration, but that doesn't mean I'm afk crafting. In EA only "circumventing" I've done is come back and tapped my keyboard in between taking my dogs out, just in case.

As long as the active server population prevents me from creating additional characters on my home server at reasonable hours of the day, I disagree.

As long as we dont get new content like the fates we had to do in our relic ooks its fine.

I remember waiting 2 1/2 hours for one fate. I played another game meanwhile. If it would auto kick me 5 times during that period I would probably still be stuck at the books.

Although I do camp fishing holes sometimes too.

Actually they need to get rid of timed content if they are adding it full time imo
