i dont mind it was a good into 3.0 as a machinist
they have already stated 2.0 relic quest line will be made considerably easier for glamour purposes so no they wont be removing the quest unless im mistaken by what they meant
some1 mentioned in a similar post yoshi said relic weapons will be useful til 55 so eithier way we look at it we are all just gonna be guessin til 3.1
Lets not pretend that keeping a static cap for years doesn't bring its fair share of issues.
If I had to choose between a static cap with a combination of horrible lockouts and crap drop rates (FFXI) and a cap that is regularly raised where you acquire upgrades regularly (FFXIV), I'll choose the latter.
Everquest had started with level 50 as the cap, and went to level 60 with its first, second, and third expansions (oddly enough, they figured that if you didn't have one of the other two, the third would do the trick in taking you to 60). Then the fourth expansion brought the level cap to 65. More expansions than not have featured level cap increases for that game.
Gear resets? Well, DUH - ANY expansion, regardless of level cap increase, will be a gear reset. They want you experiencing the new content, and gear is the primary means they have to entice you to it.
Man. I'd love to have seen the relic quest properly continued instead of what it sounds like we're getting ("consideration")
I mean, even just making it so the step of zeta -> new relic requires 1300 of our new 'poetics' OR having the current zeta would be awesome imo. But I worry this consideration will really be a huge slap in the face.
Was it ever confirmed that this is what a completed relic will allow in Heavensward? Was it in the last live letter (I haven't been watching them lately).
I don't recall seeing any statements about what the bonus would be, or even if there would be one. Really, we'd be better off if there weren't one.
You are either delusional or an actual saint. I worked my ass off for my first Zeta, and after swearing up and down that I wouldn't do another, I'm well on my way to a second. Damn right I want all that work I did to count for something tangible on the next upgradeable weapon questline. It's a totally fair advantage and I earned it!
Even though I didn't do it myself, I will be legitimately crying for all the maxed Crit/Det relic holders out there if all that Gil sunk becomes meaningless. At the very least, keeping the i110 allocations but having to meld more up to the new item level seems only right.
But no point whining when we still don't know what the bonus is, just that there is one.
This is the main issue, why invest in yet another relic? If you're just going to take a dump on the months of grinding any millions of gil sunk into it, only to completely make your efforts obsolete? This pretty much magnifies the fact that the relic quest is just horribly designed.
This hurts newer players more than anyone else, as they were not able to take advantage of "the best weapon in the game" for a reasonable period of time, and now they are stuck with a soon-to-be obsolete weapon, with no refund of investments.
