I like how the title says "everything" designed wrong, yet only seems to mention leveling, and some stat stuff.
Fix everything that is wrong with this thread first.
I saw the band Laments Terms in a dingy bar 10 miles south of Kansas City. A little too twee for my liking, but they seemed sincere enough. However, the sound there was terrible and the drinks were most certainly overpriced.
There is actually something that does bug me.
If each expansion just does dungeons that isn't something new and refreshing, expansions are supposed to introduce new types of things to do.
Look at FFXI then zilart then COP each expansion brought something new to the table.
I am waiting for the release of expansion because I am really sick of dungeons, want gear dungeon, want story dungeon, want to make your weapon dungeon.
I understand they had burn circles in FFXI but at least there was some variety.
After a while too much of the same thing can burn you out.
Everything doesn't need to revolve around dungeons that aspect needs to change.
I don't know if the system OP suggests is better, but I definitely agree the class/job system in this game is a mess and should be remade completely. I doubt it ever will be, but it is quite funny how they more or less scrapped everything from 1.0 (with good reason), but decided to keep one with such a large impact on the game even though it was as bad as it was/is. Yoshi P has done a lot of good (albeit not all to my tastes), but keeping the class/job system was one of the biggest mistakes.
On, I kinda feel like you were designed wrong.
