I don't get how, with all the threads we've already had on this, that people still don't understand that high pop servers like Hyperion aren't going to have the same problems with RMT that low pop servers will have. Hyperion is often closed for character creation. No character creation = no new RMT spam. I thought this was already covered.

I gotta admit the friend request thing baffles me... I would figure their goal was to advertise as widely as possible, but this is like insulting someone and then asking them to buy your wares. It's more like griefing than gilselling...

I would kill for this feature, as well, at the very least, a temporary "muting" of the offending RMT that lasts as long as I am logged onto the character that made the report. WoW has a similar feature and it does make things convenient. As it is, it oft takes me awhile to be able to report the offending RMT spammer after blocking them.

Most likely because they're hosted in countries outside the legal jurisdiction of Japan and the US.

Why haven't they adjusted it so the blacklist is blocking accounts yet? That alone would fix the majority of the problems, since most of the RMTers are on the same account. Blocking an entire account from your blacklist would make it infinitely easier to shut them down.

Wow I was gonna say Idk why people are so upset i might get one, maybe two tells in a day ignore and they don't actually bother me at all.(this while being logged on almost all day everyday) perhaps its the server? On Balmung like i said i might see 2 rmt tells a day and it doesn't really bother me, I just ignore them.

That being said though im blown away at what you guys are saying about the less populated servers, I could understand where that would be quite stressful for you and I hope something is looked at to prevent that

I wish all our servers were like that but Balmung is locked for character creation almost 24/7. They can't make new characters to spam people. On Faerie and other smaller servers it's a total nightmare. Ignoring them does no good because they make a character, spam the world, delete and remake all day long. By the time you blacklist them, they've made a new character to hit the world again. If I don't have /busy up, I'll get a tell every 2 minutes or less. Because I like talking to people and making friends I don't want to have to filter tells or keep /busy up. I've thought about giving up my main and just playing on Balmung because of this but there has to be a better answer.

I wrote a full functional description on how to do this (minus the Lua code), and how to implement a global
blacklist. I posted it to a non-Square Enix FFXIV website. I was immediately "shot down" and flamed
by a RMT spammer sympathizer, who argued that such changes would "break the Lua source code and
crash the networks."

SE already knows it's any issue and just because a moderator or DEV doesn't answer doesn't mean they have not seen the millions already posted. I myself just block the first one I get if I get one and go /busy for an hour or so and that's the end of it. Also as someone here said even when SE makes filters the RMT just adapt and work around them. Now I wouldn't mind having an option to click and repot like we have with the blacklist, but I don't really see what they can do any different than they already are to slow/stop/fix this anymore than they have.
