Would a "gunbow" just be a crossbow? XD
Edit: Out of curiosity I just went and Google'd and dear god, my bard needs this, STAT.

When it comes to gunblades, I would love it if they went to Red Mage DPS job (basically the "Mage" part would be spellblade/spellbullets), which would allow it to be a jack-of-all-trades (both ranged/melee) while still be one type of Disciple (DoM). It would be like the ultimate FF class mascot job :D .
Well that shouldn't be too far since 2.X is setting the Stage for the return of the Garlean Empire assault on Eorzea. Most likely 2nd expansion may be Garlemald plus other new areas relating to the next Eorzea vs Garlean Empire war FF14 is strongly hinting about currently in 2.X content.
Though 3.X story could focus the war in Eorzea before we hit Garlemald with the final 3.X update being the Battle of Ala Mhigo to take back Ala Mhigo from the Garleans.
DPS using renzokuken as its Primary damage. During renzokuken you would use certain skills to do the combos.
and during your auto attack you can pull the trigger as well.
Wasn't a gunblade the thing that shot Warrior of Light in thr head during the battle of cartenau? Fairly certain there was a line if Imperials firing gunblades in a line.
Gunblades in FF and in ARR from what we've seen have always been melee for the most part and they're ranged attacks are pretty meh.
Just take a look at when Cid used his pistol-daggers against those clones. Then theres Neros gun-hammer.
I made a post about it on the first page but since you didn't read it...
While SAM may be in consideration for DPS role Yoshi-P did say it is only consideration so it may still become the Tank role it was originally planned but we have to wait for finalization to see what they do with SAM.
Gunblades are not iconic in the ff series. I can think only of FF8 with a gunblade. there are a few for garlean officers in FF14 but it's more like gigantic bayonettes than real gunblades.
On the contrary, actual guns have been in the series since FFT...
Far more relevant than gunblade
