Hm I dunno. I did a race and I finished in 3rd place but after I crossed the line somebody behind me went further than I did AFTER I already crossed and got placed and went from 3rd to 4th. That's kinda weird.

You guys are just not understanding how turning in these races work. In fact it is not turning at all, it is called "Laning". You are not turning your chocobo, each press left or right makes your chocobo switch a lane, but to do that it takes a second and a bit of distance, so you have to time it correctly. In fact, do not touch your left or right buttons when you do not have to.(tyhat does not take away that the lag in the game atm is making it harder then it needs to be of course)
Ya as far as turning goes or feeling like the choco is drunk, thats how its supposed to be. whats is irritating and seems broken is going right through a box and not getting anything. Thats so frustrating losing a race because you didnt get the item you should have.
Also I think my skill reflect is broken. I just dont understand how it works. If I put it on anticipating being hit with something I still get hit anyways. And im pretty sure nothing gets reflected back. If I wait and use it after im hit it does nothing either. Pretty sure its broken and a wasted skill.
For chests to count, as explained in the training round, you need to line up before you hit. Laning while you are very close to or on top of the chest makes you miss it. I do not think this is broken. So far its all players errors to me.
one thing i dislike
L1 is to sprint (i like this)
right analog is to move camera (which is lovely)
L1 + right analog zooms me in (which seeing how most area's are hills is a bit buggy with me D: )
if i could change the sprint to R1 that would be nice :D
I understand your concern completely and would like to see such a change.
Personally I press up and let go of L1 when I need to adjust the camera to see around corners etc during the race, it's a fix for the time being ^^.
There is definitely a performance issue when its prime time, when I race at say 10am in the morning I don't miss any boxes (unless its clearly my own fault because sometimes derp) but at 10pm I can run right though it but receive nothing ^^;;;
I think so too *nods*
