Who actually got conj , so that hey could be a dmg mage ?

Clearly that way of thinking is incorrect now isn't it, since conj will be whm. Yet after I atempt to explain it, you keep defending the logic that developes the wrong answer....It just doesn't make sense

Cure = BLM....seriously ?
Protect, shell = BLM.....

Coglin can you provide me the link where you got your information from? From reading this thread, you appear to not only be ASSUMING more than anyone else but you are also arrogantly defending yourself without any proof outside of your opinion (FYI opinion is not proof). So allow people to have their opinion until the SE says what is what. You may disagree with their ideas but it doesn't make them wrong or you right. Your insults and tone only demonstrate your ignorance, not theirs.

Anyways why can't con have both? Looking at the spells, THM looks a lot more like RDM then either a strict BLM or WHM. Or they could push THM into an entirely new direction that isn't RDM, BLM, or WHM.

I agree with this. Pretty much every game has expectations from people who have certain abilities at their disposal, that are more advantageous to them personally, to use those skills.

Now Con needs to have some damaging spells, otherwise they wouldn't be able to solo at all, and it's clear now whether people like it or not, that the ability to solo is intended for every class in the game.

I think what they need to do with the upcoming job system, and what they likely will do, is have specializations, so you can unlock white mage and black mage, with conjurer being the hybrid of the two. At that stage, if you are classed as a black mage, and hopefully this is unlocked relatively early (25ish would be nice), then your offensive will be good enough that people will let you play to your strengths.

They really should have made con a healing/buff class and thm a damage/debuff class, and though that's what's maybe on the books, so to speak, I don't think thm really outshines con as a damage class (I could be wrong). It really needs to in the current system, otherwise cons are going to keep getting pidgeon-holed into healing in a group 9 times out of 10.

But we know that changes are coming to the job system, so I think any feedback we give (for those who actually give feedback, instead of just writing rants and mini-rants) should be given with the idea in mind of the upcoming job system and what we'd like to see in it's implementation.

Because the devs said so. They said for now, each class will have one and only one job. They listed BLM and WHM as the only 2 caster jobs. Those are facts from devs post.

I am not asking you to like or agree with it, but to get on the offensive with me because I simply work off the devs information is illogical. If you didn't read the post at the time the devs posted it, I am sorry, but I am not posting links so you may catch up to what is common knowledge. Do your own research my friend.

Secondly, I am not debating whether some are right or wrong, thats not an issue. My debate is based on the reasoning some are posting as to how they came up with there logic for it. You don't have to like it. But I am not gonna sit here and read how elemental nukes = BLM while they deny the posobility of CON being WHM because they have cure/protect/shell, which are much more logically linked to healer then elemental nukes are linked to BLM.

As Gicker mentions, CON have to have some form of damage. The only forms of damage we have in game are Blunt, Pierce, Slash, Water, Ice, Earth(all 3 affinities make up umbral), Fire, Thunder, and Wind(the three of which make up astral).

The logic of Blunt, Pierce, or Slashing seem nonexisted for options for CON as its main form of damage, thus only leaving the Elemental affinities. Based on the fact that they got elemental affinity damage over physical damage in no way makes them a "logical assumption" to be BLM wgile supporting the cure/curaga/protect/shell abilities.

That's what I felt personally. Like I've said before, it would be easier, tie into the lore, and ruffle less peoples' feathers to let CON get both BLM and WHM. I don't remember them stating that those would both be in the first set of jobs, but rather they were in the set of jobs that got their official names first. Separating the elemental spells from BLM would be getting rid of the entire reason for being named BLM. If THM gets a nuking job more power to them, but it wouldn't be called BLM unless they get the elemental nukes.

I've looked for about 10 min for information on the job system via the development forum and searching, using tag searches, as well as google and can't find what you are stating. That's about as much time as I'm going to devote into something that has not been fully developed or finalized (LOGIC tells me not invest a lot into something so volatile).

Either way, do you really feel it's necessary to have such a condescending tone when discussing hypotheticals? Seems silly to me. I hope the system does turn out the way you imagine it, otherwise i would feel a little foolish at some of these responses if I was you.

If you feel my tone is condescending, that is your mistaken assumption. Very similar to how poster mistook CON to be BLM untill the devs cleared that up. Then to go on and in 2+ seperate post attept to pretend It doesn't exist, and imply that I am wrong and condescending for it, simply because you are incapable of locating dev post that for most, make what I am saying common knowledge.

He listed the classes to be, listed the fact that as of now there will be one job per class. Mentioned that in the future not only jobs, but classes will be expanded. Mention the changes comming for MRD and ARC specifically. Mentions choobo's, and the mounting system.

These devs have tons upon tons of interviews where they specify information. Its not Hypatheticals, its fact. So what kind of person do you have to be to call it hypotheticals just because you cant find it ?

If anything Conjurer is more related to Scholar, than either black mage or white mage.

But here are the key abilities to thinking Conjurer will be Black Mage: Flare, Burst, Quake, Freeze, and Tornado. Only black mage has ever received, and used these abilties (other than bosses).

By some people saying Cure, protect, shell, and raise makes that job specifically a white mage. What other jobs can use those? Paladin, Scholar, and Red Mage.

So 5 key abilities that can only be used by 1 specific job vs 4 basic abilities that 4 job can use.

I am going with "What is Black Mage going to be? For $300 Bob"

I agree with Kamaru, your tone is condescending Coglin. You may have the facts on your side, but you have yet to provide any evidence of that, and you claim that that's not your problem, but you continue to argue your point with long winded responses, so obviously you care about defending your position. Not gonna lie, totally thought the same thing lol. Something about the word Conjurer screams Summoner. And true, most people expect CON's to heal, just like in XI they expected SMN's to heal. But no ons is forcing you to do it. Switch to THM and add your elemental spells to it and start kicking butt like YOU want to. With the amount of players that are out there that can literally heal themselves, you should stand your ground.
