The Hunt Public Shaming Needs to end

Doesn't change the fact that the decent thing to do is wait for more people to show up for the hunt since it doesn't change anything for you aside from having to sit there for a few minutes before it's pulled. If you're in a party and actually doing what you should be doing then you're going to get full credit.

Open world content without a timer can never technically be pulled "early"

Technically there is no such thing as an "early pull." A ranks are designed to be fought by 8 people. What that means is that if a party discovers a mark, they are under NO obligation to announce it to the server. They also have no obligation to set a wait time if they do shout it, and anyone who shows up has no obligation to wait like the founding person. Basically hunts are no different than any other over world mob, and carries no privledges nor exclusivity. If you choose to partake in "hunting," you have absolutely no rights and SE will not intervene unless the ToS is broken (naming and shaming is a form of harassment and is reportable)

Right, which goes right back to the question of: Why do you need to claim it immediately? Why can't you wait for others to come too?

You get no extra rewards for being the one to claim the Hunt Mark, no less reward for allowing more people to show up. It's not like in XI where once you claimed the mob nobody else could touch it so you had to claim as soon as it spawned or risk losing your chance at the drops.

All the complaints about the hunt dying in 30 secs works against your arguments though. To be quite honest, waiting for more people to show up IS risking getting less reward since it will die before your party can build enough credit. It has happened to me time and time again.

Well he aint soloing it, hes killing it with his friends.

He found it, he had the numbers to kill it. What makes you think you're more entitled to every single mob that you didn't find? Instead of, like many, sitting in Mor Dhona and waiting for the LS to post a loc probably 3rd or 4th hand before TPiing out under self entitlement that you can get in the kill no matter when you arrive. Get out there, hunt and kill.

If you miss a hunt mark, you miss it, move on and try harder to find the next one. All those screaming abuse and obsceneties SHOULD be reported as it is giving a very bad impression of the game and community to any new players in the area due to false self entitlement in regards to "early pull" which is just another term for waaaa waaa you pulled before I got there.

Actually you do if theres so many people that damage (well enmity you can generate in actuality) is below the threshold you can end up getting less than the gold reward. Especially now with how they die so quickly with the lvl of gear many have.

Agreed 100%. What I usually do in a scenario where I come across an A rank while grinding levels or gathering is to switch to my WHM and engage the mob. I'll get it down to 70-75% health and THEN I'll announce it and let people have at it. With this method I always guarantee myself full credit and don't suffer any risk of someone else grabbing it while I'm waiting or forming my own party.

If that's happening reconsider how you play your job, because honestly this shouldn't be an issue in a party over 5 people.

Also, if someone comes along and resets the mobs (manages to grab enmity) you can actually report them. There is an official post to that buried in the forums from 2.3 hunts XD
