Question to Devs about 3.0 new jobs relic weapons

get over it guys. i have a zodiac axe. once heavensward releases EVERYTHING WILL BE RESET. everyone will be even once again. heck you dont need t13 clear for access on the new raid. so that is reset aswell. you wont need shiva ex clear to play new exmodes etc etc etc. why should the relic be excluded frome everything else? it wont. it makes just no sense. maybe there will be some sort of small compensation for it but THATS IT. they cannot force new players onto the old lvl 50 content grind why? because books and other things requires marks which can only be farmed at lvl 60 then. so new players would have to go back ALL the way and work thier ass off for something thats lvl 50 and totally outdated``? wont work guys. it would only work if they nerf the shit outa the current questline. even more than currently.

They can just simply add a new set of weapons that is equally good, but can be obtained via different methods. Kinda like in FFXI where there are 3 sets. Relics which use currencies from one content and it used to take months/years to get, Mythics use gem from a new content again long grind, then Abyssea relics which are relatively easily farmed and can be done in a few weeks if you have friends to help.

Personally, I think something along the lines of a diamond dust-esque like system would work well.

For the Heavensward relic you'd need... say 10 items from each of the extreme primals from Heavensward (assuming there are more than one at launch) then, say 20 goblin weapon parts from Alexander normal mode (maybe you get 2 from hard mode?)-- they'd drop from bosses and you could maybe get 1 per day?

Then, for those who completed the relic they would have the "base weapon" already so they wouldn't need the 20 parts from Alexander. That way you have to grind content but not nearly as much. 10 times per class for 13 classes is 130 times doing the same content... and that's for each content. Surely that's plenty to keep someone occupied... for a while >.>;

Why not just say, old players with the relics, you did the work, so you get a jumpstart on the new weps and some cool vanities with an option to decline if you want to start fresh in 3.0, then noobs start new content with no trouble. then again I only have Zenith and am not really thinking hard about this.

Even if there was a reset, no one is going to be on "even" ground. There are still people who have not hit ilv100 yet, there are still people who haven't gotten the best gear from the coils, and there's people who haven't even upgraded their soldiery weapons. The expansion won't do jack for keeping people "even". All Square is going to do is make old content easier and easier to do (some possibly solo too!) so that struggling players don't spend weeks or months chipping away at the block, and that includes the relics. Face it, nothing is going to start over like 1.0 had.

As I said, I'm going to be very pissed if they decide to trash out all the past relic content and release a new relic quest line that makes zodiac obsolete.

Since now, people that worked hard for their relics having to deal with unlucky strikes of brutal RNG which resulted in hundreds of hours pumped into a single weapon...and the only justification was "well...it's an iconic weapon and you'll be able to keep upgrading it" only for this to happen?
If this happens, can somebody freaking enlighten me on where the hell (I say hell but I'd rather use another word here) is the supposed "future investment" here?
If SE decides to get rid of the relic quest and/or turn zodiac into a stupid vanity weapon I'll personally feel like I've been tricked, cheated, fooled and baited throughout all this time with this dumb long and tedious quest.

Have you played an MMO?
Expansion will reset everything. Level 51 gear will be better than everything right now.

Besides, the relic was just a keep busy quest for casuals that couldn't do coil.

It would kinda suck trying to farm light at lvl 60 with a Ilvl 110 weapon. I don't see that working out too well. I don't even see how that would be possible.

The Dev team will not release any information about 3.0 until after 2.51 I'm sure or even 2.5 part 2

Yeah, relics are so casual friendly with, the RNG involved, gil sinks, etc etc. As said, it makes very little sense for Square to be easing Nexus and Novus steps and then make them trashed in a few months. I would not bet on gear starting at level 51 to be bounds better than gear that's level 50 ilevel130.

This is not just about the people who are at the top of their game for relics, you also have to consider the people who are still struggling with their relics (or are on their 2nd one or more). If they didn't finish their relics on time, tough luck for them since relics won't matter in 3.0? Won't be many happy players if they're told to suck it up and ditch their relics.
