Leave or levie?

I've always said it like "leave." I can't help but giggle when people say "levie," or "lev" Just sounds so funny. :3

If I ever wonder how to say something in game, I just look at how the Japanese say it. Works every time. ^^/

It's a safe assumption to say that players in New Orleans do not pronounce it Levie.

There's a post somewhere on the site about giving the description for leve quests, and it says theyre special quests that grant adventurers "on leave" to special tasks, thus they are called leve quests because of this.

Considering how Leve quests are built around the word "leave" i'd imagine they'd be pronounced as such.

In past FFXIV interviews—the developers always pronounced them as "leaves", so that is what I call them.

I always thought it was lehve, I'm always thinking of a le- with no extra vowels with a leh sound more often than with a lee sound.

Never heard any vids pronouncing it, that or I don't pay attention to phonics much in a translated video because I'm reading the translation. Pronunciation is always up in the air for me a lot in games.

leave, because that's exactly how miss saori hill said it while translating for tanaka in interviews back in the olden pre-alpha times. And that's the bottom line because stone cold said so.

I remember waaaaay back in release when there were interviews about the guildleve system, it was said "guildleve" was an Eorzean word for "guild leave". So by that definition I'd say it be pronounce leave and leaves (just like leaves of a tree). I think both pronunciations are plausible though and I end up using both from time to time haha.

Not from New Orleans but close enough. I pronounce it Leh-vh. I have cajun blood so I read it with french in mind. Lev(e) e is silent but I pronounce the v because it ends in a vowel.
