Your comment sounds very aggressive and snarky :( Much of coil comes with experience, and its hard to get experienced with the current way of things, especially if you don't have much time to play. But like the poster above me, I also feel that the majority of the issues surrounding coil are the end game community and the attitudes that are revealed when something doesn't go as planned and wipes happen....Quote:

Simply labeling yourself as a "casual" player doesn't mean you should be able to survive standing in fire. Sometimes you are just not as good as you think you are, and should really use that as a motivation to get better (Dunning–Kruger effect). People like to say "I can dodge X 90% of the time, I just need to find 7 others that can do the same." However, take Titan as an example, if all 7 people can dodge 90% of the time, that means there is only a 48% of chance that all 8 people are going to make it out of a given wave of plumes. In an average Titan fight, you get more than 10 waves of plumes, that's means you have less than 0.1% of chance that everyone making it out of that fight alive.
In a MMO, we all start out even. Some may have more time than the others, but how far you can get in game is completely dependent on your own, even for contents that require team work.
Adding story mode so people can experience the story is the same approach SE currently has with the new primals, which I personally dislike. The new hard mode primals are basically story mode with the extreme modes providing actual gear reward. If anything I think they should go back to the original approach they had with Garuda, Ifrit, and Titan. You do the story mode to watch the story, then have the hard modes reward players with something without too much challenge, and for people who want to challenge themselves or min/max their gear they can move onto extreme modes to acquire raid tier level gear. -

Hard to "know" the fight when you cant get a group to teach you. Not to mention for myself I am overseas right now for the next 2 years, so when I can play no one is online. To counter your other comments, not everyone is in an FC that has done Coil T6-9 much less has players to carry them (nor do they want to leave their current FC's just to get coil done). Nor do many have enough gil to pay for carry (which I have not yet seen offered on my server). Also, many of us have our own personal houses now that make swapping servers not an option or we'd lose the millions of gil we spent on them. I could argue Coil issues all day, the fact remains that many of us feel little is being done to help those stuck on T5 get through it and catch up into SCOB and eventually into Third coil. This is the issue many face and even the echo does little to help really. For myself, until coil difficulty is eased I will just watch it on YT because I dont want to deal with the stress of people while trying to learn the fights.Quote:

I see no problem in Coil, i see the problem in players attending to it half assed.
I sometimes go in there with Pugs, or people who want to help a friend, but they start off without voice (no need) but also without simply clarifying basics like how to handle the fireballs...
but the story won´t change, no matter how much we argue here - tbh, i don´t hope they hand it out on the gold platter (as its already on the silver platter by now)
my only advice, don´t try with PUGs, set up Linkshells. You don´t need no static, but don´t go along with each and everything the PF washes in. Get a Rooster of good people and get used to play with them. It´s like in any other Team-Sports.
